Randomness

Phyllis is such a hypocrite. I loved how she called Nick a coward today for starting over again with Sharon. When he was leaving Sharon to start a family with her she had no complaints. Now she gets a taste of her own medicine and all of a sudden he's a coward? It's called karma, dear. Look it up.

Stephanie Gatschet debuted as Madison North on Friday on AMC and I have to say, I'm not interested. In her or her husband. I'm a touch intrigued by his past with Randi, but ehh....not enough. I'd love for her to meet up with Kendall and magically tell her everything though. lol That would definitely give them the ammo they need against North. It is awful funny how he's playing slots in Zach's casino though. Speaking of the Slaters, I think the writers are doing a good job of not letting Zendall go back to the magical kingdom that it is. There's real awkwardness, real tension there and both actors are playing off of that and each other wonderfully. They seem a little unsure of how to handle being in such proximity of each other with the tension still laying there, so I want them to find their way back to each other...slowly.

I can't stand this Erica and Ryan storyline and how they are ruthlessly going after Annie. I noticed that Erica did not go after David with such fire after Ian almost died under his watch and Angie and Jake had to race the clock to save his life. This is her grandson, who's had a rough go ever since he's been here, and she did not go after David with such fervor. Now that Annie's out of the hotbox, she's going after Annie with everything she's got. How weird, right? Believe it or not, I believe that Annie is truly getting better this time. Now that we know she and Aidan aren't working together to manipulate Adam, which leaves me to wonder what both of their individual angles are here. What, is Annie not supposed to want to be free? Is she not supposed to want to regain her life at some point? We're supposed to think she can never make a logical decision again and that she's lying when she tries to turn a corner and make a change, the changes that everyone has been complaining that she should make? She tries to show that she's making them on her own and nobody believes her. I agree that she may not be the most credible person in the world, but it doesn't help that nobody is going to believe her unless she's running around with smeared lipstick and a bloody knife. This is ridiculous because it's giving a bad name to those trying to recover from mental disorders--we all want to regain our lives and rejoin the public. Yes, some of us made horrible mistakes along the way but are we never supposed to regain sanity and gain some sense of logic in our decisions in our lives?

I like how Amanda is realistically dealing with this instead of magically forgetting about it save for a rare mention or two every now and again like they usually do on soaps. Her body's not back to being slim and perfect like they usually are either....I think they are playing this story out realistically and giving Chrishell Stause a chance to shine. Btw, follow her on Twitter @ http://twitter.com/Chrishell7

And can I just say that although the chemistry between Olivia and Johnny is definitely there, I would prefer for him to be with Lulu? Lulu gave him a chance to be who he is without some bad-boy exterior (which was kinda shattered in his sidekick stint with Jason on friday--hilarity), while Olivia gives him a chance to show he is still rough around the edges. I think Johnny viewed Lulu as being too fragile to handle all of who he is, so he kind of put up a front around her and the pressure to be 'good' got to be too much for him. That combined with his role in Michael's shooting was the perfect excuse for him to cop out of the relationship. Granted, Olivia doesn't know the part he played either and will no doubt kick him to the curb afterward considering that could have easily been Dante with Sonny that day instead of Michael, but still. He's rough around the edges and so is she. He doesn't have to treat her like a flower and that must be refreshing for him. It's pissing Sonny off but who cares. He's with Claws, why should it matter.

I kinda like how the politics are coming into play in more of the soaps--AMC's mayor and wife, GH's mayor and wife...each playing a part in major current storylines. Granted, they are washed up, multiple times done over storylines, but still. I want to see each actor's take on what they've been given. On GH, the mayor..and seemingly Alexis (she's got something to hide here, I know it) are dealing with a dead mistress and potential public scandal, not to mention a malpractice suit that pits Port Chuck's finest docs against Chuck's best attorney, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy is a hoot, btw). On AMC, the mayor is trying to can Erica Kane's daughter but according to spoilers, is going to meet his maker before he can accomplish his goal....and then his wife is going to predictably come on to Zach while his scandal with Randi will no doubt hit the news at some point. I wonder how this will affect the Hubbards. With Jesse being chief of police, going public with the news that his daughter in law is a former prostitute, whom he arrested once for that I believe, is not going to look so good for him. I don't see it being much of an issue with Frankie as he is familiar with and accepting of Randi's past and is willing to overlook it.

On OLTL, I can't wait for Natalie, Jared, Rex and Shane to eat dust when the truth comes out that Gigi really didn't do anything wrong but try to save her son. Gigi was under the impression that Stacy would be the one to save Shane's life with the bone marrow transplant, so she had to agree to Stacy's condition to give up Rex or she wouldn't give up the bone marrow. In order to convince Rex that it was over, she had to pretend to sleep with Brody. Then she met up with Schuyler, who convinced her that Stacy was not the match for Shane's bone marrow but scammed Kyle Lewis into changing the results so that it would look like she was. So the two of them are on a hunt to prove who the real donor is and to prove that Stacy was lying, but in order to do it they have to go through Kyle, who is trying to avoid charges being put on him by Natalie and Jared. Rex fell for Stacy's lies, reel, hook and sinker. Shane was just a foil in the scheme--he believed Stacy's lies and turned against his mother, just like Stacy wanted him to. Helps create the nuclear family without Gigi that she's been going for all along. Natalie's calling Gigi all these sluts and skanks and tramps......wonder how much crow she's gonna eat once she learns the entire truth? You're not exactly a beacon of honesty yourself, Natalie. We could easily blame the events of the past year on you----if you and Jared had just been honest with the fact that Jared wasn't the real Buchanan, Nash wouldn't have lost his vineyard or would have been able to do something about it, which means he wouldn't have died, Tess would have had no reason to come out, Jessica would have taken care of herself during her pregnancy, meaning Chloe would still be here, and she and Nash would be raising her and Bree together. Instead, you kept it from them, so Nash lost everything, prompting him to push Jared in a fit of rage and fall to his death, which brought Tess and Bess out in Jessica's grief, Tess' drive for revenge ultimately killed Chloe because Tess didn't take care of herself, and that started the baby switch. See how easy it is to pin a series of events on one person? Natalie thought she was doing the right thing and lied to everyone, not once but twice, and hurt multiple people in the process. Starr could have had her baby months ago if she'd come clean. But Natalie was only thinking about one person's happiness in the situation, not the many people that were involved. Gigi thinks she's doing the right thing, but the only person she's hurting in all reality is herself. Shane looks for any reason to say he hates Gigi and rebel, and Rex is way too gullible than he needs to be, considering how it was only a couple of months ago that he was trying to convince anyone who would listen that Stacy drugged him the night of Matthew and Shane's accidents.

The Random-isms 6/11/09

AMC Random Notes:
1)Tad socking David in the eye was hilarious and unexpected. His totally calm disposition while he did it was even funnier. 2)I dislike Marissa more than I thought. 3)Making David the unwilling hostage at the Janda wedding spoke volumes to me. Despite their biggest obstacle, they're still fighting against it. 4)It was very unexpected to have Greenlee be such a focus in the episode today, and for Kendall to be honest about Zach's place in her life. She looked visibly relieved to say it out loud. 5)I think David's on to Liza's fake belly but I like the immediate concern that came through despite his dislike of her. 6)I can't determine Aiden's motives at all, or whether Annie is telling the truth or not. 7)Erica was irritating me today.

OLTL Random Notes:
1)I was actually annoyed to see Jessica crying today. I don't know why. Maybe its the PMS, maybe its because I've seen too much of it, I dunno. 2)I don't like when almost the whole show centers around the teen scene. Sue me but I just don't. 3)It was totally plot-driven to have Marcie get the bib at the exact time Markko and Cole were talking about not wanting to give the baby away. 4)Glad Shane called Stacy out for calling the Gigster a slut. Pot, please meet kettle. She's dying to be introduced.

GH Random Notes:
1)Michael punching Jason in the eye was kinda funny. 2)Is Carly ever gonna win? 3)I think Claudia is mad that she lost her leverage and that Carly is responsible and Sonny cares more about her disposition than he does about Claudia's. I sense this is more about revenge; I can't tell if she's genuinely upset about losing her child because SHE wanted to be a mother. 4)Poor Liz. Michael damn near tossed her out by her fragile little ass. That must have pissed Jason off on some level, you could see it immediately. lol He's saved 2 ex-girlfriends now, who's next?

GH Midweek Mashup--Week of June 8, 2009

So Helena is now on to Rebecca and Ethan's scheme. I think Rebecca is grossly and probably dangerously underestimating Helena's capabilities. She's a nasty woman and Rebecca is being too big for her britches at the moment. So why did Helena knock Luke out to have at her mercy? I guess we'll find out but I think it's going to lead to Tony Geary's annual vacation. I don't really like Tracy but I'm glad she immediately caught on to Holly's fake call of distress. And despite his obvious reluctance to do so, I think Ethan is warming up to Tracy. And I think he genuinely wants to be Luke's son. I wonder if this is going to have an effect on how he pulls off the scam with Rebecca. He told her not to become emotionally attached, but I sense that he is becoming attached as well. He really did come to town to follow a lead that Holly gave him. I don't think he expected to find his father and I think it's going to eventually change the way he views the scam.

I was happy I didn't see Maxie for awhile and then today, I get her rambling at the beginning of the episode. Everyone talks about how Spinelli rambles on and on and it's annoying, but Maxie does the same thing. I find Maxie's rambling irritating, and the octave in her voice is just another notch on my belt of annoyances. Point blank--99% of the time, I can't stand Maxie. She's got good fashion taste though. One thing I find a little funny is how she rambles with that same 'doe-eyed animal' look in her eyes; it never changes. I feel like Jason's becoming the flunkie cop/clean up man because look at what he's had to handle in the past few years--Spinelli. Maxie. Spinelli and Maxie. He gets stuck with the dumbest things to handle. It certainly can't help his IQ level rise any--as gorgeous as he is, he definitely ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer, is he? I don't like Maxie and Johnny together. At all. Enough said about that.

Discretion was definitely the name of the game when it was discovered that the man in the room with the unconscious woman was the mayor of Port Chuck. I think he has something to hide besides the affair, which would explain his very obvious reluctance at getting any help. That poor girl was apparently closer to death than the mayor realized, but he still hesitated on getting help. The thing that boggled my mind was that instead of threatening to call the police for foul play in case the girl (I think her name was Brianna) died, Olivia instead threatened to call the mayor's wife. LOL Was the girl's fate a cautionary or warning tale about the dangers of having sex in the bathtub?

Nikolas stumbled right on to Rebecca's plan today and didn't even realize it. He caught on so quickly but dismissed it at the same rate, so he must have been convinced by Rebecca's show. And for all logical purposes why shouldn't he? He hasn't come across anything that would suggest Rebecca already knew she was Emily's twin and was indeed coming to pick up Emily's share of the Quartermaine fortune....and she must really be rocking his socks off since most suspicions of her went down the drain since Alexis made them wait to hit the sheets.

I like Robin a lot more since her recovery. I think one thing is missing though--her interactions with others. I understand that Robin's been refocused since she's been back, and that means she wants to be with her family. But we never saw any closure with her and Maxie, or her and Elizabeth. Both of them deserve apologies from Robin, and I think they are both entitled to one. Robin went after both of them with both barrels (mainly Maxie at her intervention) and then was shipped off to the rehab center in a pretty little box. Since then, neither Maxie nor Elizabeth has mentioned Robin, and I don't blame them. So what happens now that Robin is back? Do Maxie and Elizabeth forgive her? Are they still feeling resentful or hurt by the things she said? What are the writers going to do there; I think that part of Robin's recovery is also integral to the story, making her go to the friends and family who tried to help her and apologizing. Of course, nobody deserves Robin's gratitude and apologies more than Patrick, but since he seems to have forgiven her I suppose I can too.

For some reason, I think it was very fitting that Rebecca was the one to tell Jason that she and Emily were twins. Jason was one of the first, if not the first, to see Rebecca on her first few days in town but has had the least reaction, so I don't think there was anyone better to tell him the news. I wonder how he's going to handle that. Liz was immediately suspicious of Rebecca's motives and good for her. She needs to stick with that. Liz needs something to do with her time off from work besides babysit Emma, run after Lucky and attempt to go barb for barb with Rebecca. I'm still a hopeless Liason fan but I doubt I'll be seeing them together for a long time, if ever again. Emily's death hit Jason hard, so I thought it was very appropriate that her doppelganger was the one to deliver the news. Will this affect Jason's future interactions with Rebecca? He offered his help, but will he ignore the signs if and when she decides to manipulate him? Johnny showing up right after and shoving the 'what would your sister think' tactic in Jason's face right after Rebecca left drove it home. Will that change Jason's mind on what to do with the incriminating evidence? Sonny knows that Jason has something on Claudia, I doubt he'd let Johnny strongarm or guilt him into not giving up what he knows.

Random GH questions, facts and comments: 1)I love how Luke calls Tracy 'wife.' Not a 'darling,' or 'my love,' just a simple 'wife.' 2)Still loving Natalia Livingston's performances. I don't see Emily at all in any interactions with people, especially Ethan. 3) I thought it was funny when the politician was talking about how he was so anti-drugs. ::eye roll:: Spoken like a true politician. I find it hilarious when politicians want to bring their morals and beliefs into a situation that's less than favorable to said morals and beliefs. 4)Wouldn't a Spinelli-Kate affair be the funniest thing ever? In Helena's words, wouldn't it be just delicious?.....Nah, the aftertaste of orange soda and stale uppity perfume doesn't really alert all my senses. LOL 5)Why do so many politicians cheat? 6)It was hard picking a line of the day--there were alot of witty or funny lines from characters today, but the one I chose was one of my favorites.

Line of the day: "Make your phony distress calls to some other sucker. This one's taken."--Tracy to Holly
And just because the lovely Constance Towers is back on my television for at least a little while, she gets the honorary line of the day even though she didn't say this today: "Well isn't that delicious."

OLTL Midweek Mashup--Week of June 8, 2009

Poor Gigi. My heart goes out to her. She's dodging slut comments left and right. Shane and Rex are gonna have to eat a whole boatload of crow once this story is out. Thankfully, Shane found out at least one thing that's hopefully gonna make him feel 2 in. tall--that Gigi in fact did not sleep with Brody. That's the main thing he's been hacking at Gigi's ankles about, so finding this out is no doubt going to make him feel rotten. And good too, because he's been positively rotten since this all came out. So has Rex. They're gonna have alot of making up to do, but Gigi just wants her family back. I sense she'll be more forgiving than many others (myself included) in the same situation. Stacy is pathetic. How is Rex so clueless?

My condolences go to Dorian too. She opened her heart to some Latin passion but Ray has to go be with his daughter. I think Dorian and Ray were a very even match, she provided him with a sounding board and matched him wit for wit, while he gave her some calm to match her usual hot-tempered nature. It was definitely a boo on the OLTL writers for letting A Martinez go; he and Dorian could have had something going. I definitely like my Dorian with some spice and with Clint she was too busy trying to be Miss Belle of the Ball. Ray was a far better match and I hope soap fans in protest of the firing will make their feelings known and maybe get him back. Dorian had to keep her dignity and wouldn't let Ray kiss her goodbye. It was very Dorian but somehow very graceful at the same time. I think if she had let Ray kiss her, she would have cracked and she didn't want Ray to see that. She is going through genuine pain. I wonder how she is going to handle that--will she take her pain out on her usual punching bag, Viki, or will she bury it all?

Despite the impact of the storyline, I'm glad Starr and Jessica weren't on today. I needed a day free from Starr's voice, 'cracking with emotion' (look I'll be honest, I just find it annoying, not thick with emotion) and Jessica telling us one more time that 'Tess is a part of me. Bess is a part of me.' We know that. I like the storyline, love the acting and I'm thrilled that it's out, but I needed a break from the two of them today. Maybe the intensity of the story is getting to me. :p

John finally let Blair in on the inside joke between him and Marty that his marriage was a farce. Blair seemed genuinely crushed by the admission, as I believe that she truly does love John at some level. But it is not the same way she has, does or ever will love Todd, and I think John saw that before Blair did, just as she saw before John did that he could never love her the way he loves Marty. That's where I feel the sorriest for Blair--she has always come in second to Marty. Todd wanted Marty and not long after he couldn't have her, he chose Blair. John thought Marty was dead and picked up Blair in the meantime, almost as a plaything at first. But Marty was always the one he wanted. She will always be second fiddle to Marty, and that realization is going to reignite the previously fizzling truce between these two women. I believe that is where most of Blair's resentment stems from--Marty got through to John and Todd in a way that she never could and has a hold on them that Blair never could. Both of these men view Marty as a fragile bird, while Blair is the sidepiece they pick up and then drop some time later with what seems to be little to no concern, no matter how hard Blair fights to stand out in her own right. Blair felt unwelcome wherever she went today and my heart went out to her. John told her their relationship was over and practically flew to Marty, her mother is gone, Dorian's nursing a broken heart as well, Starr is all over the place, and Todd is shacking up with Tea and seemingly having a good ol' time watching tv with her and the boys. It was a sad moment.

Speaking of Dr. Saybrooke, I personally think it's Marty's *oh woe is me, I'm a damsel in distress* act that she plays in every storyline she's ever been in that irritates me the most. Everything about Marty comes back to the rape. And it was a terrible thing. I sympathize and understand on a deeper level than I will ever admit. But at some point, you have to at least try to move past it a little, yet everything with Marty keeps coming down to the fact that she was raped. Give Marty another struggle. I hope that now that she's got her memories back and has had to relive everything, including said rape, that she can finally truly begin to move on with her life......which will no doubt include John, since he laid down the gauntlet for Blair today. How will Blair's heartbreak be impacted by the fact that her 'husband' would rather be with another woman, who is the mother of her daughter's boyfriend, and the fact that her own ex-husband is shacking up with yet another former love while their children are in the house? I think it's a bit of a mockery to Blair's feelings for John and whatever relationship they had since right after he tells Blair their marriage will be on paper only, he's showing up all debonair at Marty's door. Couldn't even wait til the next morning, huh Johnny?

It was a painful day of heartbreak and accusations in Llanview today. Maybe we'll see some positivity tomorrow.

Random facts, questions and comments: 1)I like Cole and Marty's chemistry alot better now. They are definitely meshing alot better now that Marty has her memory back, so kudos to Susan Haskell and Brandon Buddy for being so distant at one time that it was hard to remember they were related. 2)I think for Tea, her fear of being manipulated again by Todd is combined with her inferiority complex when compared to Marty in Todd's mind, just like Blair. 3)John's emotionless face while Blair was pouring her heart out was bugging me, almost like he was coddling her. I didn't expect him to break down in tears, but I wanted to see some hurt or remorse somewhere. 4)Trevor St.John is handsome. :p 5)I liked Michael Easton when he was Caleb Morley instead of John McBain. 6)'The Naked Lady' is never gonna get old with me. I think its funny. 7)Rex really is an idiot. Did he get the Samson effect when he cut his hair awhile ago? He sure has seemed stupid since then. Btw, he totally looks like Fozzie with that growth. 8)Stacy's 'stripper with a heart of gold' tactic? Please.

Line of the day: "I can't be your husband anymore." -John to Blair at Rodi's

AMC Midweek Mashup--Week of June 8, 09

Aww, Jakey proposed to Mandy today and she accepted. I didn't know Amanda had a brother, so for a short-term viewer like myself, I'm glad they brought her family up when she was talking to Opal about how differently she envisioned her wedding. I like these two....which makes me wonder how Amanda's going to react when she finds out Liza is the 'caring, anonymous parents' Jake agreed to give the baby to. Jake is lying to Amanda, but he's so charming and good at heart that you don't even realize it and it's actually quite easy to forget.

Baby Ian is getting a new heart valve, and the emotion of the situation made Ryan feel a bit like an outsider, so he left. I'm glad they're wrapping up this part of the storyline; that baby has been through so much already and just hearing that he'll have to have these same kinds of surgeries his entire life wasn't really a consolation prize, but he didn't die and that's the good part. If the writers SORAS Ian, I hope they don't forget about this and reintegrate it into his storylines. It could make for good drama and keep longtime viewers rooted in the history of the character.

Why's Adam so obsessed with Annie all of a sudden? He said it wasn't about romance and after she saved his life I doubt he's going to try and manipulate her since technically, she owes him, so what could it be? I don't like how JR was talking about her today though; like he's really anyone to cast stones at anyone not in their correct mental state. JR isn't exactly Mr. Sanity. He's a hypocrite, he isn't grateful at all to the woman who saved his father's life, and if JR was in the same position as Annie, do I think he'd go as far as to steal Little A? Hell yes. I agree that Annie needs professional help, but I don't like how everyone is badgering her. Right after she comes in with the stab wound on Friday, Ryan's in her face with little to no concern for her health. Not long after, Aiden's in her face. Now he's telling Ryan that Annie is crazier than ever. I can't determine Annie's motives for ditching Aiden so suddenly other than that she doesn't need him anymore, but I can't see her being so emotionally detached from the only person who didn't give up on her. This whole storyline has been confusing and hard to follow. It's one thing to have plot twists and turns, as long as the path that they're on has some level of familiarity the entire way through. This storyline, all the way back to when Annie tried coming onto Aiden when he was still with Greenlee, has been drawn out for way too long and isn't really doing anything anymore except sputtering and stalling. The writers seem to be confused on whether they want Annie to be crazy or sane, and I'm tired of trying to figure it out. I read a few spoilers about Ryan suddenly being jealous about Annie moving on with someone else, but judging by the way he looks and speaks to her now, it's hard to believe he ever loved her1 at all, much less that he'd ever love her again or show any emotion towards her except indifference and mild disgust.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'm gonna say it anyway: Post-Surgery Tad is getting on my nerves. This might be the writers attempt at comedic relief, but it's not working. Its Tad's one-liners, the dry humor and sarcastic wit that had me, not this goofy, overblown shift in personality since the shooting. Speaking of which, are they ever going to follow up on that? How is Tad's brain doing, how are him and Jesse? Tad has only been a surface character since the shooting--we have no insight on how he really feels about anything. Maybe that's what the writers are getting at, maybe it's not. Who's to say.

We heard Dr. Doom's rendition of what happened the night of Stuart's murder---the first version and then his 'truth.' Do I think he killed Stuart? At first I said without a doubt David was guilty, but now I'm not so sure. He is, however, without a doubt the one who had the most motive for wanting Adam dead and made no secret of it, both before the shooting and after he found out the body in the morgue was that of Stuart's instead of Adam's. It seems very convenient to blame the murder on him, not to mention it would tie up many loose ends and make 98% of Pine Valley's population happy to see him locked away. But its for that very reason that I don't think David did it. He's too obvious of a choice. I think the real killer is hiding in plain sight. I found it hilarious that after Liza offered to defend him (mainly because she has motives of her own, which are not clear yet), he ratted her out to the fuzz. Priceless and totally Hayward. Not that I expected him to keep his mouth shut since his ass was on the line, but still. It was pretty funny.

New stuff on the site: For each update on a soap that I do, which will be almost everyday but you can count on at least 2 updates--a midweek mashup, and a week in review. Even if the posts aren't long or are nonexistent in fact, I'm still at least going to include random facts of the day. Those are going to be my random little musings on what went on during the episode.

Another thing I am starting is a line of the day per show. That is going to be my opinion of the wittiest, funniest, or most memorable line said on the show that day. Those two things will be included in every post for each show I review.

Today's random AMC facts, comments and questions: 1)For someone about to give birth, Amanda's belly looks faker than Liza's. 2)Speaking of Liza, does she wear anything but black? We already have an emo mama to be--GH's Claudia Zacchara Corinthos. Wear some red, Ms. Colby. 3)I did the same online ordaining that Tad did--so technically, I am an ordained minister as well. Yay! 4)How did David possibly know that Jake and Amanda were picking that exact moment to get married? Liza was already gone when Jake proposed, so how did he find out? 5)Was that a mosquito bite on Alicia Minshew's cheek today? 6)Angie was a cranky mama today, huh? 7)Didn't Erica look irrelevant today? lol

Line of the day: "Erica, don't you worry. I'll have plenty of attention left for you."--Adam, when he was talking to Erica at the hospital

Midweek Mashup--Week of June 8, 2009

Y&R:
As much as I am genuinely trying, I just cannot muster up the energy to be interested in this Billy-Mac storyline. Either they're going to be together or they're not. It's that simple. Moving on.

So the fake agent is dead and because the assailant fled the scene, it's going to look as if Daniel did it. It's going to be even harder to prove that Daniel was given the short stick since the person who actually committed the crime is dead and the assailant is unknown. And I can't be too interested in this storyline either. Moving on yet again....

Is this Mary Jane a wackjob and a half or what? It's obvious she has an obsession with our Jackie Boy, but how far is she willing to go in order to get what she wants? And btw, who saw her hurl that poor birdie through Phyllis' living room window yesterday? This was after she apparently did the same to her cat, who is now dead. I did not realize that when she was first talking to him. I realized it when she tapped his nose and he kinda bobbed there like a rubber ducky in a bathtub. I was utterly and quickly disgusted and mildly nauseated. Who the hell keeps their dead cat (who is dead at the person's own hands btw) and I'm guessing stuffs it and keeps it around? And talks to it like it's still living? I'm not sure what to make of this Mary Jane but she freaks me out. And she had the nerve to get a restraining order against Paul--but in her defense, all of his neurotic following of her is kinda creepy. Granted, he's got a very justified reason to be suspicious--she's a nut--but still, don't just follow someone around.

Nina's a little nosy, isn't she? I know she's developing a screenplay but she's seriously poking her nose in somewhere that its obvious she's not very welcome in. And as it turns out, Langley is none other than Phillip Chancellor himself. Interesting. So why are they trying so desperately to cover up the past? What is there to hide? As long as this isn't overly prolonged, I am curious to see how this unfolds.

Connin' and Fallin'

Oh heavens, does Ethan Lovett look good in black. I mean, he looked really good today. I liked seeing how he and his partner in crime, one Rebecca Shaw, came together and formed their con. I must say, even though I liked Emily and was sad she died, Rebecca is a bit intriguing, especially since I believe she is genuinely starting to fall for Nikolas. If Ethan realizes this, will he risk blowing the con by being angry at Nikolas, or will he up the ante by exposing Rebecca or conning them both for revenge?

When I first saw Carly and Claudia fall down the stairs, I was almost sure that one of them was going to miscarry. Despite my initial feelings, I am now pretty glad that neither of them did. Jax, for all his good points, is really getting on my nerves. I don't like how he's handled things with Michael since he woke up--Michael isn't necessarily making it a walk down the Yellow Brick Road but hello! he just woke up from a coma--and I don't like how he wouldn't let Carly voice her fears about Michael being gone from the hospital in his condition and having no word on where he is. Every time she opens her mouth to voice a concern, *no no Carly, you'll hurt the baby.* We get it, Jax. It's a high risk pregnancy. And I'm not denying the severity of the situation. But Michael is also in a high-risk situation, and his carelessness is not helping the cause. Carly is just being a concerned parent; she fought like hell for the past year and doesn't want anything to jeopardize Michael's recovery. It seems to me though that the only obstacle to Michael getting better is Michael himself. But should Jax go on the attack everytime Michael is around? No. And I'd slap him next time he did it.

Nikolas is so painfully naive. He isn't suspicious of the one person who is conning him left and right. Alexis basically gave him the proof he was demanding she give him for being wary of Rebecca, and he's still not reacting. He isn't using his brain, like always. And where is his son?

Kristina....boy is she getting on my nerves!! I don't know why they SORAS'd her...she's an irrelevant part of the storyline, she isn't a breath of fresh air, the only funny thing about the girl is that she thinks she's actually doing something. I have to admit though, her interactions with Jason make me chuckle. Maxie irritates him better, but Kristina is using new tactics. I don't know about her ripping her shirt off just to throw Jason off Michael's trail--I mean, did she really think he was looking at her padded walnuts??? The look on Jason's face during her little zingers is priceless---still kinda the same *distant, not quite there* expression, but with a twinge of *I can't believe this child* mixed in. I wonder if Jake's going to rip off his pants in a few years if he's hiding something and Sam comes to investigate. lol How aloof must Alexis be if she doesn't realize how her daughter's become a little hoochie in training? She thinks Kristina's this little goody goody and that line may have worked while Kristina was still younger, but it doesn't apply now and the fact that she's none the wiser while Kristina is showing off her not-yet developed body to the rest of Port Charles is mind boggling. Get a clue and pay attention to your kid, Alexis. Let Nikolas, the little fool that he is, find out Rebecca's con on his own. You've given him the tools, now take a step back and let him decide whether or not he's going to utilize them and find out what Rebecca's really up to. Go make sure your daughter gets a breathalyzer next time she comes home.

Speaking of Rebecca, I like this new vibe Natalia Livingston is putting out with this new character. She has a different vibe about her in her interactions with Tyler Christopher, which is good because I was just expecting the same chemistry he had with Emily. But they really are different together. And I don't feel anymore like this is just a badass version of Emily--Natalia has really made this character different and I like that. As much as I hate admitting it since I hated Rebecca when she first came into town, I kinda like her now. And it appears that Rebecca is having second thoughts; she is starting to warm to the folks of Port Chuck and doesn't seem as willing to dupe them anymore. This con can't possibly be going on too much longer with more than just Alexis and Tracy being suspicious. When Ethan's part in the scheme comes out, how will this interfere in his budding relationship with Luke? Will Luke be intrigued by the fact that his Dodger has pulled off the ultimate con, or upset that either he was not in on it and he conned one of Luke's sons in the process? We already know it's just going to add more gas to the fire of Lucky's hate towards Ethan, so that one doesn't even need to be touched. But Luke, who has opened up his home, his club and his life to Ethan, may feel differently. Or will he? With Tony Geary's annual vacation rapidly approaching, I wonder how the revelation of Ethan's con will affect everyone with Luke out of the picture and not serving as peacekeeper between the haters and the hated for awhile.

Random facts of the day: 1)Michael and Kristina have chemistry. Too bad they're related. 2)Jason still totally loves Liz. Did you see the way he looked at her when she left after he and Michael got back? 3)Despite Claud's better judgment I think she's totally falling for Sonny or is fighting like hell to keep it from happening; 4)I'm glad Maxie, Spinelli, Johnny or Kate weren't infecting my screen today; 5)Sonny's obvious conflict between not being sympathetic towards Claud's pain and trying to be concerned for the baby was a little funny.

Meet your new mommy!

So Starr ultimately decided to give Hope to Marcie and Michael. (No plays on words here, I promise!) However, the decision was one she regretted before she'd even done it. Starr had a big decision to make upon learning that her baby was still alive but realized she was in a catch 22. She wants to be Hope's mother and raise her with Cole, but she promised the baby to Marcie months ago. So she was facing a huge dilemma--raise the baby and crush Marcie and Michael, or give her up and suffer in silence. Starr has had to make many adult decisions at the very tender age of 17. I could say that this all started with Todd and blame all the resulting events on him since if he hadn't busted out with the *moving to Hawaii* line, Starr and Cole probably wouldn't have had sex, there would have been no baby switch and Jessica would have already grieved for her baby, but that wouldn't be a fair judgment to make. Starr and Cole made the decision to have sex. Not every couple decides to go all the way upon learning of their imminent separation. And even if they'd made the decision to have sex, they did it irresponsibly by not using protection. In direct contrast, the writers made Markko and Langston's first time graceful. In the real world, not everyone's first time is like that, but they did a good job of ensuring that Langston and Markko used protection so that they would not share the same fate as that of their friends. It didn't look like smut or make them look too eager, like most teenagers often look. They weighed their options, didn't let hormones dictate when it would happen, and took responsibility for both of their actions. If only Starr and Cole had done the same.

I like how all three parents have handled the situation. I'm very glad that Todd was part of the picture, I think Starr needs him, even if she hasn't forgiven him yet. Todd and Blair still have chemistry, as do Marty and John, and I think its time the partners switch back to the rightful person. Marty and Todd seem to have come to a silent truce for now after what happened to them with Powell and Rebecca, as have Marty and Blair. I'm a cheesy soap fan, but it's nice to see a group of adults who can get along for the greater good, even if they don't particularly like each other. John seems like an irrelevant part of the whole thing though--now that he's saved the day, I'm glad he went back to Rodi's. It's become clear he's not into this marriage with Blair and according to some spoilers, he's about to inform Blair of that, but I think Blair genuinely loves him at some level. Too bad too, because once this custody battle begins again, the truce between Blair and Todd is going to break so the news of her not-so-happy husband only wanting it to be a marriage on paper is going to come at a very inopportune time.

Brody refuses to be pushed away by Jessica, and good job for it. Jessica is going to need all the support she can get, and I am glad the writers have allowed this story and Jessica's DID to be handled with dignity. Some will say that Jessica should be blamed for what she did, but I don't. Nobody blames her but Dorian, with her special sense of logic. But Dorian is ignored easily, at least by me she is. Jessica needs Brody right now because with the exception of Viki, he is the only one who truly gets what she is going through. Brody had to accept not that long ago that he killed a child and almost killed Rex. Jessica is feeling guilty about the fact that if Tess had been more responsible, Chloe wouldn't have died, so she feels that she killed her child as well. Brody gets it and is going to hopefully play a big part in Jessica's recovery and hopeful re-integration.

Mah wife....and other ramblings.

Aw, I had waited months to hear those blessedly beautiful words tumble out of Zach's mouth. *Mah wife.* I hope it was as good for him as it was for me. heehee I don't know why, but everytime he says it it reminds me of Shrek in Shrek 2. Compare the way Shrek says *mah wife* and the way it tumbles out of Zach's beautiful mouth. Funny stuff.

So now we're on to Suspect #4 in the case of *Who Killed Good Ol' Stuart:* the evil doctor himself. First suspect was Zach, then Liza followed closely by Kendall, and now we're on David. It was kind of disgusting to watch how Ryan treated Annie--to think, two years ago he was damn near stalking her to get her to marry him. Granted, alot has happened in those two years, but I still think Annie is a good person underneath it all. Ryan was definitely not blameless in Annie's downfall. One thing that I have to give kudos to AMC for is the way they are letting everyone describe what happened the night of Stuart's murder. The way it shows the person's face while they are telling the story while taking us back in the frame above is pretty cool; it also helps us as the viewers piece everything together since new details are coming out left and right. I wanted to know what was happening with the other characters in the house that night while the camera was focused on one. So showing it this way allows us to see and speculate on what built up to the actual shooting. I know David's her dad, but Marissa irritated me today. After her father caused so much pain, how could she stand in the face of those who were hurt and defend any of his actions? I'm sure seeing David as broken down as he was last week hit Marissa hard, but I don't think it's right for her to roll into town not long after she was trying to take the first bus out and proclaim all this sudden family allegiance, missing this sister and parents she'd never met. David, despite his few moments of vulnerability, is rotten. And he knows it. The sad thing is, I think he can't help himself. When he reaches an obstacle, he just resorts to whatever tricks he can use, dirty or clean, to get what he wants. He reacts like that before even realizing it. I think its so hypocritical how Marissa couldn't get away fast enough from the mother who sold her to give her a better life but is gravitating towards the father who drugs and damn near kills people. Shoot me but I don't think I like her very much. I also don't like how they're making it seem as though Babe and David could have had such a wonderful relationship if it weren't for everyone else. Babe couldn't stand David, and he didn't exactly always roll out the welcome wagon for her either. Granted, alot of that was because of her relationship with and David's loathing of JR, but still. Their relationship was far from perfect.

I wish Zach would stop playing God and let Jesse do his job. I hate how they are making Jesse another dumb cop, following whatever leads he gets. Jesse's a smart, capable man. And quite handsome. lol Throw him a bone. I know Zach is willing to do whatever he needs to do to get Kendall cleared because it's clear as day that he still loves her, but still. Give God back his robes and Jesse his badge. I love Zach like skinny chicks love bottled water, but really Zach, give it a rest.......Who saw the look of I dunno what in Adam's eyes when he was watching Annie sleep earlier? I do wonder about her state of mind---I wouldn't call her cured, but she's no longer beating her head on the crazy stick either. I miss Earth Mother Annie, but I like the touch of badass they've given her since she took her dive into the world of insanity. I want to see how they are going to reintegrate her into Pine Valley society. I don't want her crimes to be forgotten because she did kill a man after all (no matter how much Richie was asking for it lol), she did kill Di (she was also insane at the time) and she stabbed Erica (still insane). Yes, I'm making excuses. No, I have no shame. No, I won't apologize for it. Anyway, I don't want Annie's crimes to be forgotten, but I don't want her being looked at like she's the scum of the Earth either. Greenlee stole Kendall's baby. Babe knew about the switch of hers and Bianca's babies and left town. Kendall used her egg instead of Greenlee's. Tad buried Dr. Madden alive. Adam left Krystal to herself when she was in labor with Jenny. Jesse accidentally shot Tad in the head. Janet's from another planet. lol hmm....not the best example to use here. Moving on....Zach shot Josh in the head. David is self-explanatory. But yet, they are all parts of PV society. At least Annie had insanity in her defense. I'm not sure if saving Adam's life redeems her though since everyone wanted him dead. lol We'll see if her good deed ends up being a blessing or a curse for her. I sense a triangle coming up between the two of them and Aiden. I like Aiden but I can't lie, I wonder what Annie and Adam would be like together. It would really make some heads roll. I would have loved to see her wreaking havoc with David, but that's dead on the water so moving on.

Midweek Rant p.2--Week of June 1, 09 (OLTL/GH)

OLTL: Stacy Morasco can be summed up in one word. Pathetic. Disgusting. Desperate. Pick one, they all fit the subject. I think her ploys to get Rex are childish and overblown, and Rex is falling for them like someone who is not a former P.I. Since when does Rex believe the first thing out of anyone's mouth? He believes Stacy more than he does his own mother! Granted, Roxy isn't exactly a pedestal by which honesty should be based upon, but she has her reasons. I wonder who this John Doe is. Anyway, I can't believe how easy it was for Stacy to wrap half the damn town around her fingers. I can't wait til this unravels and Gigi can send Stacy's half naked, scheming, manipulating ass back to Vegas on the first Greyhound.

For me, the best part of this show today was definitely when Jessica finally let the truth hit her that her baby died. And damnit if Erika Slezak and Bree Williamson didn't bring it. Viki got the ingenius idea to bring the master of all gatekeepers, Jean Randolph back to show No Last Name Bess how it's really done. I loved watching how Bess's hold on Jessica started to slip, giving me the confirmation I needed that Jessica is ready to deal with it. I agree with so many other people who say that the writers made a mistake in not making Viki more integral to this storyline. She suffered from non-integration for years, and now that Jessica is going through the same thing, it's only natural to have Viki by her side. But the writers dropped the ball and sent Viki and Charlie to AMC's attic for a few months. It will be interesting to see how Jessica handles giving her 'baby' to Starr and having to see her on occasion. At least that gorgeous Brody Lovett will be there to help her through. Kudos for bringing in Mark Lawson, his pectoral muscles and his abs........I mean, Mark Lawson. Sorry. I am still pissed at the writers for letting go of Forbes March, but he seems to have recovered nicely with a job on ATWT in the near future, so good for him. I still think Nash and Jessica had definite supercouple potential if the writers had kept him around, so I will always think he's the better man for Jess, but Brody comes in at a close second. With these two, there are no secrets, no false pretenses. Brody sees Jessica for all that she is, doesn't deny it to himself and still loves her and wants to help. Jessica's seen Brody at his rawest, at his very lowest, and helped bring him back when everyone else had thrown in the towel after his unraveling up at Llantano Mountain. They know exactly who the other is, what they are about, and saw firsthand how they have to battle their demons to come back from it. Within time, they could really put these other couples to shame. It was obvious to me how much Brody means to Jessica if he was able to pull her out when Bess was still in control--as the gatekeeper she is without a doubt the most powerful of the three personalities. But if Brody's voice in Bess's ear was enough to bring Jessica back out, even momentarily, that shows the depth of his meaning to her. Bree Williamson has the makings of a multiple Emmy winner someday--I have to keep reminding myself that she doesn't actually have DID and there are not really three personalities fighting within one body. When you forget that the person is acting and you get into the character's depth, THAT is acting. And Ms. Williamson does it beautifully. It takes a good actor to go toe-to-toe with the great (IMO) Erika Slezak, and today Bree Williamson hit it out of the park when she challenged Viki to tell her what would happen once the truth comes out (um, Bess....it kinda already is and staying holed up in that room isn't going to do anything) and shattered her facade as Jean by making Viki's emotions come a little too close to the surface. I wish I was a viewer back when Viki was still battling her DID--I sincerely feel that I missed out. Longtime viewers will probably tell me that I did.

Speaking of the baby switch, I am very curious to see what happens once Chloe is acknowledged as Hope and is given back to her rightful parents. Starr seems to be facing a dilemma---she has suddenly realized she wants to be Hope's mother, even if she's not ready to admit it aloud, but has already promised the baby to Marcie. As much as I like Marcie and Michael and think they're going to be great parents, I want Hope to stay with Starr and Cole. Cole's reaction to the news was interesting, then irritating, and now I understand it. Brandon Buddy has matured so much as an actor since coming to the show, and I've always loved Cole. I'm ready for him to get back together with Starr and raise the baby together. I think it could be hard, but do I think they're ready? Yes. This time thinking that she was dead definitely gave them time to reflect and I now think Starr is mature enough to understand what it's like to be a parent. She's had to grow up alot since that fateful night in Langston's old house. She's ready. Cole has lost so much and I think he's ready too. Besides, Marcie and Michael kind of need to back away from anything Manning. They already had Tommy...er, Sam, and now they're getting Sam's niece. Choose another family. lol

Poor Fish. He seems like that police officer that gets sent out to all the places in the city everyone forgets about and has to clean up all the odd crimes in the city, like who's beating down who in the yard with raw chicken breasts. LOL Give this guy another duty already! Schuyler cracks me up, he's so awkward. I like his intention to bust Stacy out, but his method is all wrong. I'm sure it can't help any that our moonlighting lab tech switched the results at the exact same time Schuyler was trying to access them. I'm glad he's teamed up with Gigi--since the whole leukemia storyline came out, she's lost the fire in her eyes. With Sky successfully convincing Gigi that Stacy is up to no good, she's looked more animated than I've seen her in months. Please, writers, if you ever stumble across this lonely little blog here, please listen to us. Drop Stacy. She's not worth losing Ray Montez. She's really not. Let her go. Please.

GH: Sarah J. Brown is amazing. I see now why she's a two-time Emmy winner. Claudia Zacchara is no doubt a villain. But underneath that lies this awfully endearing vulnerability that has me undecided on whether or not to hate her. I hate that the blame of Michael's shooting is being placed on her shoulders because I really like her with Sonny. This whole storyline kind of puts the viewer at a disadvantage, if they like Claws. On one hand, its hard to hate her when its obvious the guilt is eating her alive. On the other hand, her stupid methods for trying to ensure her own survival when the fact of the matter is, Michael's shooting is her fault are annoying as hell. Speaking of Michael, he's pissing me off. Which is exactly what he's supposed to be doing. I hate to admit it because of my screaming allegiance to the deathly adorable Dylan Cash (btw, Michael annoyed me then too but I'm loyal, damnit) but I am really liking Drew Garrett. Michael's pissing me off though. Carly of all people deserves Michael's love and gratitude, but she is bearing the brunt of Michael's anger at the moment. It's not fair and my heart hurts for Carly. Random thought--Claudia's hair was pulled back! There IS a soap god! I doubt I'll be seeing her in a bright yellow maternity dress in a few months, but hey. Change is change, no matter how subtle or what color it comes in. I do wonder how it feels for Sarah J. Brown to go toe-to-toe with the character she created. Must be kinda surreal, in a full circle kinda way.

Ethan is Luke's son. ::cue sarcasm:: What a revelation. I like the two together. Tony Geary's Luke has had more light and pep in his step than he's had in awhile. I feel like Luke is looking for one more big adventure and Nathan Parsons' Ethan is going to be the one to give it to him. With Luke's family pulling away from him due to Lucky's self-righteous attitude, Lulu's undeniable knack of getting caught in the middle, Tracy's ever-present scheming and Nikolas's getting caught in the MaybEmily debacle, Ethan is finally someone he feels that he's on level with and it's refreshing for him, and me too. Of course this means he cheated on Laura, but.....come on. Luke's no knight in shining armor. We already knew he wasn't faithful. Besides that, what can you do about it. I identify with Lucky's anger on some level. At least in his case of being unfaithful, it was partly to suit an addiction so that gives him at least a partial pardon, and a reminder of those mistakes in the form of a fully grown man isn't staring him or Liz in the face. Ethan is a reminder of just another time that Luke didn't treat Laura right and I believe that is what most of his anger is about. The rest, however, is all Lucky and is one of many reasons I can't stand the character.

I like Johnny and Olivia. I wish Johnny's loyalties to Olivia were this deep for Lulu otherwise they might have had a chance, but oh well. I digress. The whole Mrs. Robinson schtick is kinda refreshing. Besides.....who else are they gonna put her with? lol I hope her and Johnny are still doing the pelvic bump when Dante comes back into town. Claws said last week that Johnny and Dante are around the same age, and I'm putting Johnny at being around my age, 22-24. I would love to see how that's going to play out. Maybe because Olivia understands Johnny is why I like them so much, and they're hot together. Lulu, as much as I like her, isn't a badass. At her worst, she is a whining, nagging, needy shrill of a girl who needs to get the stars out of her eyes. At her best, she's a calming, refreshing, dependable, independent breath of fresh air. She needs a man. Too bad Drew Garrett is playing her cousin; they've got good chemistry. Ethan's her brother now, Spinelli is just a friend, and Jason....that would be wrong on so many levels. Besides, he's got the eunuch vibe down to a T. I mean seriously, does the man ever lust? At all? Cuz I do. And Jason, as dumb as he might be, is gorgeous in that rugged, don't identify with feelings kinda way. mmmmm. I'd wake up next to him 6 out of 7 days of the week. I try to reserve Sundays as God's day. Can't do that when I wake up to that six foot piece of manliness and strength. LMAO

**Guess that's it for me now, be back on Sunday to sum up the week!**

I'm totally and completely uninterested in Emily 2.0. I don't even feel like commenting on it.

Midweek Rant---Week of June 1, 09

Y&R: Amber seems to have an affinity for the radio. She did the same radio trick when Phyllis called in on the other line and bitched her out on the air, and now she's doing it again to clear hers and Kevin's names. So just because one Tommy LaSorda said that they were in the clear, now we're supposed to believe everyone else agrees, just lickety-split like that? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're wrapping up the storyline as I found the entire thing kinda dumb if you want the truth, but I don't think getting approval from one radio host classifies as necessarily 'cleared of everything.' The only thing I liked about this storyline is that it gave Jeanne Cooper her first real storyline in awhile, Greg Rikaart was able to show his chops, and I was able to go awhile without being irritated at Amber, a character I haven't liked since she hit the scene on B&B. I'm glad its over though.

Billy finally told Chloe this week about possibly being the father of Sharon's babe. I'm not too invested in this storyline either--Chloe reminds me of an irritating, constantly barking Chihuahua, Billy is....ehh, and this new revision of Mac just isn't...Mackenzie. She seems like she forced herself into this engagement with Raul (hel-LO David Lago!! Still mouth-watering as always) to get over Billy, and we all know how that's going to work. Snoozer. Wake me when it's over.

Since I read the spoilers, I already feel sorry for what Lily's about to go through. Again. Cane's putting her through the ringer about something he's hiding and it's going to tear them apart even sooner than I thought. Look, maybe I'm a loser, but I still think she was better with Daniel. I know it was a 'young love' relationship and it was probably always meant to end at some point, but sue me. I thought they were cute. I think this whole thing with Katherine's memoirs is going to turn everything upside down for Lily and it's going to be awhile before she can trust again. I think Cane could be one of the good guys (he's certainly good-looking, that's for sure...mm) but will the writers allow it? Probably not just yet. So for the moment, everything he's doing and continues to do to Lily while attempting to play the part of devoted, faithful husband just classifies him as a junior version of scum in my book. Do I think Cane loves Lily? Yes, very much. Do I think they can get past this? Depending on what Cane's hiding, in time, yes. Do I think they can make a relationship work? As sad as I am to say it, no. Cane's too shady and too shifty to ever give himself completely to another woman, even Lily, who I don't doubt means the world to him. But that contradiction between feelings and actions is why it can't work.

AMC: Zach and Kendall's speedy divorce was obviously a plotline twist so that they could toss Kendall into the situation she found herself in today--choosing between Zach and Ryan to marry. Ryan was very quick in volunteering Zach, and Kendall didn't put up as much objection as I thought she should have, since she's apparently fully moved on from Zach......right. She's totally still in love with him, and I think deep down Ryan knows it. I think he's just waiting for Kendall to stop denying it, more so to herself than anyone else. Neither of them seem too invested in their 'relationship' and it seems like they're just using each other as filler for not having another suitable partner at the moment. They're familiar to each other, they provide comfort and a stable bed buddy. I think the love is there on some level, but it's not deep enough or just not convincing me that it's got long-term potential. Other than Kendall, there's no current damsel in distress so Ryan's got no replacement prospects. Annie's in the pen (even though a Ryannie reunion is pretty much dead on the water at this point--Ryan looks at Annie with nothing short of mild disgust in his eyes now), Krystal's trying to hitch her saddle back on Tad's post, Amanda's got Jake, Taylor's off in the Chandler attic with Jonathan, Ava and Brot, and I believe almost every other female on the show is married or otherwise unavailable. He's too smart to go for Erica, although I think she could chew him up and spit him out for a snack. Miss Erica Kane is too much woman for Mr. Ryan 'I Am That Monster' Lavery. Even though Zach still loves Kendall, they're still worlds apart and you can see it, even when they're standing right next to each other. I wish these fools would get married  under better circumstances one of these days--the first time they got hitched, she was knocked up with Ryan's kid and couldn't stand the ground Zach walked on. This time, they're getting married so that Zach doesn't have to testify against Kendall. I hope they find their way back to each other--I hate when children are brought into the mix constantly to reunite bickering parents (I know the show is called All My Children so children are meant to be plotline bases, but it's not called All My Children in All My Hospitals......give the kid some peace already) and this whole relationship with Kendall and Ryan feels so forced its unreal. Kendall and Ryan had more chemistry when Kendall was butting into his relationship with Greenlee. Snoozer!

Pete and Colby found Liza's letter with blood on it. Did Liza kill Stuart? My money is on no, although signs are starting to appear as though she has more to hide than she's letting on. I wasn't around for the original Liza Colby's stay in Pine Valley, but I've heard all the hype surrounding Liza's story. I was excited to see just who this Liza was and why she was hated by most of Pine Valley. And I'll tell you, I'm not feeling it. I am familiar with Jamie Luner's work, but I don't think she's Liza Colby. That name brings about alot of history and roots and I just don't feel it with this actress. I feel like there's been so many scenes that should have been poignant, full of emotion and depth, but they fall flat. The words lose their meaning and become just that--words. When Colby tearfully disowned Liza at Stuart's services, did Liza's face hold the pain and grief that a normal parent's face should hold after hearing something like that come from someone they carried in their stomach for 9 months? No. Simple as that. She looked flat and emotionless, as she does in all of her scenes. I was thinking that from the first scene I saw her in that called for at least a modicum of depth, but I figured-she's new to the show, she's got huge shoes to fill. Give her time. 'Liza' has been back in town for over a month. Nothing's changed. I really hope that in light of Stuart's murder, Liza does not turn out to be the culprit and she and Colby are at least able to reach an understanding and begin to build on their relationship. I don't like how Adam and Colby's relationship is going to be changed now that Colby knows everything--I appreciated that at least one father-daughter relationship wasn't so messed up like many of the others on this show--Greenlee and Jack's, Babe and David....Marissa and David lol.....anyone and David.....but Colby and Adam had a relationship that I felt was at least somewhat normal. I don't like how that's being thrown under the bus so that Liza can come establish herself in Colby's life. Now we're supposed to think Liza's been this caring, devoted mother all this time and erase all Colby's anger at her. I'm not buying it and I think it's a Band-Aid so that when Colby inevitably turns on Adam and goes with Liza, it seems realistic. Boo. Why can't a child on this show have two parents who hate each other (won't have to go far there--most former spouses who are now parents hate each other--speaking of which, it seems as though Pine Valley is full of people who hate each other. I know the economy's bad but hasn't someone thought of moving, maybe up to Llanview or Port Charles or something?) but can come together to give the child a relationship with both parents separately? Is that not possible or something? A relationship has to be split in order to make way for another. I don't think that has to happen every time. Say what you want about Adam, but he loves Colby. I don't put it past him to keep Liza's letters from her, but he wouldn't want to hurt her intentionally. I hope the writers don't forget that and allow Colby to forget it either as they start driving the inevitable wedge between them. Adam does deserve Colby's anger as it took three years from her relationship with her mother that she can't have back. There were homecomings and proms and dates and birthdays that Liza missed, because Adam kept the letters from Colby and and added onto her hurt by allowing her to think Liza didn't care. But does he deserve to lose his daughter? No. He needs her, now more than ever with Stuart gone. Be back later for my rant on OLTL and GH.
