Phyllis is such a hypocrite. I loved how she called Nick a coward today for starting over again with Sharon. When he was leaving Sharon to start a family with her she had no complaints. Now she gets a taste of her own medicine and all of a sudden he's a coward? It's called karma, dear. Look it up.
Stephanie Gatschet debuted as Madison North on Friday on AMC and I have to say, I'm not interested. In her or her husband. I'm a touch intrigued by his past with Randi, but ehh....not enough. I'd love for her to meet up with Kendall and magically tell her everything though. lol That would definitely give them the ammo they need against North. It is awful funny how he's playing slots in Zach's casino though. Speaking of the Slaters, I think the writers are doing a good job of not letting Zendall go back to the magical kingdom that it is. There's real awkwardness, real tension there and both actors are playing off of that and each other wonderfully. They seem a little unsure of how to handle being in such proximity of each other with the tension still laying there, so I want them to find their way back to each other...slowly.
I can't stand this Erica and Ryan storyline and how they are ruthlessly going after Annie. I noticed that Erica did not go after David with such fire after Ian almost died under his watch and Angie and Jake had to race the clock to save his life. This is her grandson, who's had a rough go ever since he's been here, and she did not go after David with such fervor. Now that Annie's out of the hotbox, she's going after Annie with everything she's got. How weird, right? Believe it or not, I believe that Annie is truly getting better this time. Now that we know she and Aidan aren't working together to manipulate Adam, which leaves me to wonder what both of their individual angles are here. What, is Annie not supposed to want to be free? Is she not supposed to want to regain her life at some point? We're supposed to think she can never make a logical decision again and that she's lying when she tries to turn a corner and make a change, the changes that everyone has been complaining that she should make? She tries to show that she's making them on her own and nobody believes her. I agree that she may not be the most credible person in the world, but it doesn't help that nobody is going to believe her unless she's running around with smeared lipstick and a bloody knife. This is ridiculous because it's giving a bad name to those trying to recover from mental disorders--we all want to regain our lives and rejoin the public. Yes, some of us made horrible mistakes along the way but are we never supposed to regain sanity and gain some sense of logic in our decisions in our lives?
I like how Amanda is realistically dealing with this instead of magically forgetting about it save for a rare mention or two every now and again like they usually do on soaps. Her body's not back to being slim and perfect like they usually are either....I think they are playing this story out realistically and giving Chrishell Stause a chance to shine. Btw, follow her on Twitter @ http://twitter.com/Chrishell7
And can I just say that although the chemistry between Olivia and Johnny is definitely there, I would prefer for him to be with Lulu? Lulu gave him a chance to be who he is without some bad-boy exterior (which was kinda shattered in his sidekick stint with Jason on friday--hilarity), while Olivia gives him a chance to show he is still rough around the edges. I think Johnny viewed Lulu as being too fragile to handle all of who he is, so he kind of put up a front around her and the pressure to be 'good' got to be too much for him. That combined with his role in Michael's shooting was the perfect excuse for him to cop out of the relationship. Granted, Olivia doesn't know the part he played either and will no doubt kick him to the curb afterward considering that could have easily been Dante with Sonny that day instead of Michael, but still. He's rough around the edges and so is she. He doesn't have to treat her like a flower and that must be refreshing for him. It's pissing Sonny off but who cares. He's with Claws, why should it matter.
I kinda like how the politics are coming into play in more of the soaps--AMC's mayor and wife, GH's mayor and wife...each playing a part in major current storylines. Granted, they are washed up, multiple times done over storylines, but still. I want to see each actor's take on what they've been given. On GH, the mayor..and seemingly Alexis (she's got something to hide here, I know it) are dealing with a dead mistress and potential public scandal, not to mention a malpractice suit that pits Port Chuck's finest docs against Chuck's best attorney, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy is a hoot, btw). On AMC, the mayor is trying to can Erica Kane's daughter but according to spoilers, is going to meet his maker before he can accomplish his goal....and then his wife is going to predictably come on to Zach while his scandal with Randi will no doubt hit the news at some point. I wonder how this will affect the Hubbards. With Jesse being chief of police, going public with the news that his daughter in law is a former prostitute, whom he arrested once for that I believe, is not going to look so good for him. I don't see it being much of an issue with Frankie as he is familiar with and accepting of Randi's past and is willing to overlook it.
On OLTL, I can't wait for Natalie, Jared, Rex and Shane to eat dust when the truth comes out that Gigi really didn't do anything wrong but try to save her son. Gigi was under the impression that Stacy would be the one to save Shane's life with the bone marrow transplant, so she had to agree to Stacy's condition to give up Rex or she wouldn't give up the bone marrow. In order to convince Rex that it was over, she had to pretend to sleep with Brody. Then she met up with Schuyler, who convinced her that Stacy was not the match for Shane's bone marrow but scammed Kyle Lewis into changing the results so that it would look like she was. So the two of them are on a hunt to prove who the real donor is and to prove that Stacy was lying, but in order to do it they have to go through Kyle, who is trying to avoid charges being put on him by Natalie and Jared. Rex fell for Stacy's lies, reel, hook and sinker. Shane was just a foil in the scheme--he believed Stacy's lies and turned against his mother, just like Stacy wanted him to. Helps create the nuclear family without Gigi that she's been going for all along. Natalie's calling Gigi all these sluts and skanks and tramps......wonder how much crow she's gonna eat once she learns the entire truth? You're not exactly a beacon of honesty yourself, Natalie. We could easily blame the events of the past year on you----if you and Jared had just been honest with the fact that Jared wasn't the real Buchanan, Nash wouldn't have lost his vineyard or would have been able to do something about it, which means he wouldn't have died, Tess would have had no reason to come out, Jessica would have taken care of herself during her pregnancy, meaning Chloe would still be here, and she and Nash would be raising her and Bree together. Instead, you kept it from them, so Nash lost everything, prompting him to push Jared in a fit of rage and fall to his death, which brought Tess and Bess out in Jessica's grief, Tess' drive for revenge ultimately killed Chloe because Tess didn't take care of herself, and that started the baby switch. See how easy it is to pin a series of events on one person? Natalie thought she was doing the right thing and lied to everyone, not once but twice, and hurt multiple people in the process. Starr could have had her baby months ago if she'd come clean. But Natalie was only thinking about one person's happiness in the situation, not the many people that were involved. Gigi thinks she's doing the right thing, but the only person she's hurting in all reality is herself. Shane looks for any reason to say he hates Gigi and rebel, and Rex is way too gullible than he needs to be, considering how it was only a couple of months ago that he was trying to convince anyone who would listen that Stacy drugged him the night of Matthew and Shane's accidents.
