GH Week in Review--8/24/09

This week was pretty diverse in who it featured, which is a nice change from the Sonny and Claudia show. Sonny told Claudia that he wanted to stay married, which is still a mystery to me. We all know Sonny has feelings for Olivia, not Claudia. I think on some level Sonny feels something towards Claudia, we've seen that since she came into town. But whether or not all of those feelings are sexually related remains to be seen. They have brief moments where they can sit and talk like two adults, and I like them together. I don't want a repeat of Sonny and Carly, and for some reason, I'd rather see Sonny with Kate than Olivia. Sonny and Claudia understand each other quite well, seem resigned to the fact that this is their life whether they had a choice in the matter or not, and neither of them are too high on love and what it brings. Sonny seems to think he deserves Claudia, and I think Claudia is either in love already or fighting it like hell. If only Michael's shooting wasn't always lingering in the not too far distance, huh? I don't see Sonny and Claudia having this deep love connection right away, but Claudia asked Sonny if he could respect her more.

That reminded me from this line I heard in one of my favorite movies, The Wedding Planner. When Mary (Jennifer Lopez) was talking to her father about marrying Massimo (Justin Chambers), she said that she wanted a marriage like her parents. Her father told her that unbeknowst to her, their marriage was arranged and at first they couldn't stand each other. He was in love with another woman, and she simply didn't like him. Well, the father came down with scarlet fever and was on the brink of death. The mother didn't leave his side until he got better, and that's where my line comes in. He said, "I was very grateful to her, and I grew to respect her. Respect grew to like. And like grew to love. A deeper love than I have ever known." Of course that can't happen here just yet, not with Claudia being responsible for the shooting. But I could see Claudia and Sonny being a dark supercouple someday...I hope. She gets him in a way that no other woman probably ever will, and she makes the best out of it. He understands why she is the way she is and doesn't expect her to be a fragile little egg afraid of anything that goes on in his life. He doesn't have to keep a part of himself away from her because without a doubt, she can handle it. She's someone you'd want next to you in battle, provided you haven't doublecrossed her at one time or another. Claudia is a stand up woman in the sense that she'll stand right there beside you and fight til the end. Sonny needs that. Claudia can be just as cold-blooded as Sonny, but she has a vulnerability that she's more prone to showing, which can leave viewers like me on the fence on how we feel about her. I love her and hate her at the same time. With her finding out that Kristina, not Michael, is responsible for her accident, I sense that I'll be hating her for some time, but there are times where I love Mrs. Zacchara. Speaking of her, it looks like the writers have dropped where Michael starts to remember things from the coma. I wish they'd pick it back up, it would be really interesting if Michael somehow stumbled across the fact that his 'awesome' stepmom almost killed him a year and a half ago, and then find out that she is the reason why Jerry Jacks found them in Mexico a few weeks ago. After all this time and all the shenanigans she pulled to hide it, I think it would be anti-climatic if Claudia just came out and admitted what she's done.

Although I am a Liason fan for life, I can't deny that Sam and Jason definitely still have something going. Underneath all of the things they've done to each other, there is still something there between them and they finally hit the sheets this week. I'm wondering how the hell did Jason have sex on his mind with a bullet in his arm. If I got shot, no matter what guy was in the room, I wouldn't do it.....I'm totally lying. I'd do it anyway. I chose Sam for Monday's LOD because even though they were talking about a car, I think it fit their relationship as well. Sam never being able to have a child, Jason being in love with Elizabeth, Sam being responsible for Jake's kidnapping a couple of years ago--huge issues. But with time, it could work. They still have love for each other, despite it all. It could work. Sam is strong where Liz is fragile, and Liz can't handle Jason's life the way Sam can. I hate it, but Liz isn't exactly a firecracker. She needs some fire under her ass.

Speaking of Liz, while Lucky thinks they're going to reconnect, she's too busy thinking about his brother. Nik and Liz could have something going too, but Liz doesn't want to hurt Lucky and besides that, Nik's too busy going what everyone calls 'Full Out Cassadine' on her. I wasn't watching when Cassadines were a prominent part of Port Charles, but from what I read on soap boards and the bit I've heard from the characters, the Cassadines didn't play around, Cassadine men were hell if they were scorned and Nikolas up until this point had been successful in being the exact opposite. He could embrace the side he got from Laura and turn off the Cassadine side at will, but it seems he's again done the exact opposite in his vow to make Rebecca pay. He's never going to be that way with Elizabeth, but how will he balance his obvious feelings for her against his scorned pride from Rebecca? Nik can be two split personalities at the same time and I have to admit, it's kinda cool. Of course, he's not going to tell Liz what he's doing, but she's not stupid. I think she'll catch on soon enough. How effortlessly the shoe switches. At first, Nik was openly vulnerable but Rebecca was completely closed off, putting on a mask. And now, she is openly vulnerable and Nik is completely closed off. I wonder if eventually his feelings will come back or re-emerge as he gets deeper into all of this. He can hardly keep the disgust and anger off his face; I'm not sure how Rebecca doesn't see it. He just has this calculating aura about him and a double meaning to everything he says. I can see it, why can't Rebecca?

In smaller stories of the week, I am not on board with this Inspector Robin thing that she's got going on with Andrea Floyd. Just not interested. There's nothing more to say about it. I wonder where the writers are going to take Lulu and Dante/Dominic. Talk about conflict of interest from hell once everything is out in the open. He's pretending to be a gangster so he can take down Lulu's good friend Sonny, but the reality of it is that he's really Sonny's long lost son from Sonny's relationship with Olivia, who just happens to be her ex-boyfriend Johnny's girlfriend. I think despite Carly's better judgment, she likes Dominic. She doesn't want Morgan around him in an effort to make sure he doesn't follow in his 'footsteps,' but I think she likes him a bit more than she's comfortable to admit. I didn't see much of Maxie or Spinelli this week, and I was grateful. Not interested in Kate's story either. I'm glad Johnny put an end to trying to convince Claudia to leave Sonny. I understand his frustrations with always telling her the same thing, but I was getting pretty frustrated too. The conversation has been stale, redundant and almost verbatim for months. I'm glad he put a stop to it. Claudia has no interest in leaving Sonny and the sooner Johnny realizes that and backs off, the better....I guess.

OLTL Week in Review--week of 8/24/09

This week of OLTL actually wasn't that bad. We found out during the Friday cliffhanger that the elusive Ross Rayburn is living under an assumed name (and not too creative either) of Ross Raymond in Tahiti and is Tea's partner in crime in a whole new way---he's actually her husband. I was reading the weekly Two Scoops over on Soapcentral.com and the author of this week's column mentioned that she liked the way it played out; Ross getting closer to revealing his marriage to Tea at the very same time that Todd was putting it all on the line and proposing to Tea. I have to admit, I liked it too. I like when the writers further intertwine the story and drive the points home when they are told separately within the same scene like that. The more I saw of it, the more I realized that it's been the elephant in the room for awhile. Somehow, I suspect that Tea's marriage to Rayburn isn't her only secret. She seemed too scared of Elijah revealing this to anyone, and I don't see Tea getting spooked over Llanview finding out that she is already married, and not to Todd. If anything, the admission may win her some friends that didn't understand her unashamed propping and championing for Todd. Say what you will about him, but he's been pretty mature about admitting that he's caused alot of people pain. He makes no apologies or excuses for what he did to Marty the second time; he knew it was wrong, has made peace with her animosities towards him, and wants to move past it. Alot of people say that the character of Marty shouldn't let her rape and then kidnapping by Todd the catalyst of what she is about; in my opinion the same could be said for Todd's character. He can't stay in the hole that he created by being a rapist; it goes nowhere. In real life of course, rapists often are not brought into such close contact on a regular basis with their victims, but at the same time not all of them never see their rapist again. I wasn't a big fan of Marty and Todd's time together, but he seemed to have some realizations about his relationship with Tea and raced home to tell her, only to find Teabag packed and ready to jet. Literally. Todd is well aware that he can't change his past, and he is no longer trying to; he is trying to move on with the woman he 'loves,' as much as Todd can really love anyone. I gotta give it to him though, I think he really does feel something similar to love for Tea; he doesn't let his guard down often but he was pretty raw this week.

We saw Langston fighting her attraction to the producer of David's 'show,' which of course had Markko jealous, and with reason. For two years, she's been his freak, no wandering of the eye, no secret attraction to another guy, nothing. And with Lola's pursuit of Markko and her sabotage behind them, Markko is no doubt feeling a bit jealous and threatened by watching his girlfriend with the hot shirtless producer. I felt a little bad when Markko recreated the same thing that Ford had done earlier in the day; when I saw Ford's body I saw a man--a well-cut, rock solid man. But with Markko, I just saw someone who hadn't grown into his body entirely yet. I saw a boy...think about Twilight's Jacob Black before all the muscles and the haircut. I love me some Mr. Rivera, but I'm sorry. There was no comparison there. I just hope this attraction between Lang and Ford isn't allowed to go anywhere--Langston and Markko seem to have one of the strongest, most stable relationships on the show. There's no secrets, cheating or betrayal between them, and its obvious that they're willing to fight it out for each other. Don't let that be ruined by some fast talking, hot as hell reality show producer. That leftover tension by Lang lead to a roll in the hay (literally) and the introduction of a new part of this column I'm calling 'Overblown Bubble'(the name is subject to change; I'm just playing with the name until I find something that fits). This refers to an overused word or phrase that day, or that week. Soap writers are infamous, especially when proving a point or really driving a plot home, of using the same word or phrase and finding a way of working it into almost every conversation. For example, on Thursday, the Overblown Bubble was 'Muy caliente.' I think Markko and Langston said that at least 6 or 7 times. The first and second time I heard it, I thought it was a touch of Spanglish that I could admire; I dabble in it a bit myself. lol But after the fourth time, I was more than a little irritated. So that is where 'Overblown Bubble' originates. Send me your Overblown Bubble thoughts!

In a brief moment of humility on Stacy's part, she finally broke down this week and admitted to Kim that she was tired of lying, and headed over to Rex and Gigi's to tell them the truth. And silly me, I thought the writers were gonna let her go through with it. Silly soap viewer, truth is for dorks!! Kim 'saved the day' by not letting Stacy tell the truth, which lead to her running into a depressed Fish at Rodi's. After some 'grief sex,' Stacy is holding out hope that Fish's little swimmers hit the mark and she can pass this baby off as Rex's. It is amazing to me how narrow-minded and remorseless she is. I can't say I was touched by her little breakdown as I still hate her guts, but it did deceive me for a moment into thinking that she wanted to live her life lie-free and was ready to be honest. There's not much for me to say about this story; I hate it, I think the writers have dragged it on for long enough, and it needs to stop. That's all.

Blair headed off to Tahiti in the unnecessary scenes of the week, to get her dirt on 'that bitch Tea Delgado.' Another overblown bubble. In Tuesday's episode alone, I heard that 8 times before I stopped counting. I think Blair knows that Dorian and Rex are right and she's just using this as an excuse to break Tea and Todd up. TNT is perfectly capable of self-destructing, there's no needed assistance from Blair. Whatever secret Tea is hiding is obviously capable of doing that all by itself. I read in the spoilers that Ross and Blair are going to continue plotting against Tea in the weeks to come---could this lead to a love connection between the two schemers? It's obvious that Tea and Ross didn't marry for love, so she must have been strong-armed into marrying him so that he'd keep the bigger secret to himself, and now that she's trying to start anew with Todd, that secret is going to continue to get larger and larger. I really hope that someday, Blair's life doesn't revolve around anything Todd or Tea related, and that she can find a man who not only loves her despite her faults, but isn't with her to help her stick it to Todd. It's old. It's not high school anymore, Ms. Cramer. Get a life.

Well, the GH marathon is on and I've barely spoken about this soap, so I'll close this one early so that I can review GH. Won't You Take Me Down.......to Delusion Town

Yes, ripped from another song. Nope..still not apologizing.

Today's epi was all about crazy women and their delusions. Teabag's delusional simply for thinking that Todd is capable of love in any capacity, with anyone, Blair is delusional for thinking that messing up Todd and Tea's relationship will send him flying back to her, and Stacy's delusional for....need I say more?

Teabag's trying to hit up Tahiti, which happens to be the same place Blair is headed. Too bad Todd interfered in Tea's efforts, Blair and Teabag coulda met up, strapped on their floral sarongs, sipped some mimosas by the beach and discussed their crazy obsession with the fair-haired rapist. It's funny how off and on Tea's emotions are, which just enhances how undercover crazy she is.

In other crazy news, Blair's abandoning her children all for the sake of trying to ruin Todd's relationship with Tea. She says she's doing it to protect them, but that's where her delusions come into play--it's not about the kids at all. She definitely wants to stick it to Tea, but that is partially because Tea admitted she loved Todd and ended up getting the guy, while she got ridiculed for admitting the same thing. She doesn't need to protect them from Tea and she knows it. The kids have no problem for the most part with Tea. And now she's leaving the country to find some guy whose got dirt on Tea??? Seriously, there's no need to go that far. She needs to stop being petty, stop using her children as a cover-up for her own childish motives and grow up. Listen to your aunt, Blair---get your own life and actually be a mom to those kids. With Shaun having one of those things they call a life now, he's not watching the kids, Dorian's got her own job to worry about, Starr's almost grown has her own life to worry about anyway---who's watching your children while you're jet-setting for some dirt?

Across town, Butterfly 7 was starting to have its effect on Sky, who thankfully regained his wits and tossed Stacy out on her pole-grinding ass. This further proves that he's a smarter man than Rex. lol I'm glad the writers didn't allow Stacy to let this scheme come through; its about time the dumber Morasco got hers. It's so irritating that she continues to use the only guy who's been on her side from the beginning, even though he knows exactly who she really is. It further shows that Stacy has no morals or conscience and is too far gone to even understand just how wrong she's being to Sky. Poor Stacy, she's got Blair syndrome. She wants Rex, but she comes in second to Gigi. She drugged Sky and he still didn't want her, she is STILL second...to Gigi. Just like Blair is to Marty with Todd and John.

I think Rex is running from his argument with Gigi, mainly because he knew he was wrong and she called him on it. I think he's tired of being wrong, but he's not ready to change his behavior. I agree that Gigi asking Stacy to have an abortion was pretty rotten, but now Rex is using that to turn the tables and shape her out to be the bad one; I think to take some of the heat off himself. Rex's motives for asking Sky to leave are purely selfish, just like Gigi's motives were purely selfish. How funny that Rex wanted to run away from the argument and left Gigi to argue alone, but he wouldn't let her do the same. It resulted in some pretty hot angry sex though. That's always a positive, right? Well, sorta. We'll see how long the orgasmic euphoria lasts before they're back to fighting again.

Blown Covers--AMC 8/25/09

I guess it's safe to say Amanda blew her own whistle on Operation Baby Drop. The bewilderment in David's eyes as he realized this wasn't a random outburst from a grieving mother was a classic David reaction, and from the spoilers, he's about to let Liza have it as his own suspicions finally bubble over the surface.

I still don't like Marissa. I just can't catch on to her. She keeps asking people to give David the benefit of the doubt. JR of all people is not going to be making any niceties towards David, and Marissa shouldn't expect him to. She shouldn't be expecting JR to give David anything except the finger. I think he needed the hug from Marissa though; he wasn't expecting it. Jake and Amanda are still blaming David for everything, and although I think he deserves a good portion, let's remember the fact that Amanda had sex with David willingly. It takes two to tango, and it takes two to have sex. She deserves some of the blame she brought on herself as well.

I almost believed Annie's testimony....almost....until she started talking about Adam. She is manipulating Adam and I'm pretty sad he can't see that. It's like he's fighting past his prime and the last two women in his life (Annie and Krystal) are making him look like a fool for having faith in them. Adam's a sharp man normally, which is why I no longer understand that not only did he let his guard down so far for someone that he previously wanted nothing to do with because she was crazy, but that he's on her bandwagon so much. I'm no longer a big Ryan fan but I was on his side during his testimony to the judge. Too bad that Adam's got the judge in his pocket. Ryan's testimony got the most genuine reaction I've seen from Annie in months. I am an Annie fan and I hope she recovers, but I do not think she should be allowed around Emma. I don't think she's stable enough and like it or not, her secrets and manipulation have traumatized her daughter, who just wanted her mother around. I think she's still a danger to Emma and shouldn't be given visitation rights just yet. Adam doesn't realize it but paying off that doc is going to bite him in the ass later. Annie still needs help and evading some kind of prison time or psychological evaluations is only going to hinder her recovery; I see her falling off the deep end again sometime. I hope not, but if she gets no help and she's still manipulating everyone, it's only a matter of time. Her threatening phone call to Ryan after the verdict was passed down not only contradicted everything she said to him in there, it showed me that maybe she's not so stable after all. She's just gotten excellent at hiding it.

Liza told Tad about her feelings for Zach, and apparently she's got it bad for the guy. I think Zach's denying it...but I think he's got a little thing for her too. He was pretty eager to find out her name after the hot sex on the gaming table, and all of a sudden he's cold on her. I don't think so. It's making Kendall squirm though; we all know she's insanely jealous. Zach still very much wants to be with Kendall, but not only is his attraction to Legal Beagle Liza getting in the way, he can't bring himself to forgive her. Seems that Zendall is at a maybe permanent impasse. Kendall clobbering Liza at the end of the episode was priceless though. When I saw on the spoilers on SoapNet that Kendall was going to get violent, I was wondering WTF? I thought maybe she would slap Zach once he told her, or just that she'd get violent with him. I had no idea she was going to take it out on Liza. Hilarity. It just took Kendall's jealous meter from 10 to 100, normal to legendary, in 4 seconds. lol One, how did she know Liza was going to be kissing Zach? Second, how did she know when they'd be kissing, or was she planning on revealing herself to Liza anyway? Third, how the hell did she get downstairs and go outside and all the way around the house to clobber Liza? Fourth, if Liza and Zach hadn't been kissing how would she explain herself? "Oh, the prison's right down the street; I found this nightgown in a ditch during the chain gang clean-up this morning and decided to come down for a little visit." LOL @ Kendall. Just LOL.

I hope Marissa will be there for him; he's gonna need it. 5)Still wondering how the writers are going to write out Chrishell Stause's exit story. 6)Kendall being so quick to clobber Liza has me second-thinking that 'killer' tag that Zach has yet to put on her. Hmm......

Clinty's Got A Gun

Yep, I stole that title straight from Aerosmith and tweaked it to fit my purpose. No, I'm not apologizing for it.

Rex's apology to Sky seemed a bit like a warning for him as well. It was pretty rotten though, he couldn't even look Sky in the face. He doesn't handle feeling threatened by another man too well; now he must know what it was like for Gigi when she had to watch him with Stacy, knowing it was a lie. Tenfold for the Gigster though, since she was feeling threatened by her own kinfolk. Sky's just another man who sees Gigi for what she's really worth and isn't as knuckleheaded as Rex. I gotta say, within the last few months I have fallen really out of favor with that one. Get it together, Rexypants. Get. It. Together. lol

It was too funny watching Matthew try not to laugh at David and then give him the thumbs-up. I wonder if that was an out of character thing on Eddie Alderson and Tuc Watkins, or if the smothered giggling was really in the storyline. In any case, it was entirely too funny. Since David's been back in town, I swear, almost every line in his scenes is LOD (Line of the Day) worthy. Wonder where Nigel went--probably up to his room like the bad boy he is. How dare he be ticklish. ::cue sarcasm::

I find it a bit funny that in real life, Scott Evans is gay and Brent Claywell is straight, but on the show, the straight-acting guy is really gay and the gay-acting one is really straight. They're both doing a pretty good job, but now knowing that Fish is gay, I see the signs a little more clearly.

She hasn't had a heart-to-heart with Starr in a little while. 7)Jessica seems to have inherited Tess' impatience. I still see flashes of Tess flare up a bit in Jessica's eyes from time to time, namely, her entire time with Delphina. lol 8)Rex needs a friend. Schuyler seems a bit, okay, A LOT, smarter than Rex. He could use Sky for his brain sometime. 9)I liked seeing David actually concerned for Matthew's safety with the surgery. It was a refreshing change from the shallow David we usually see, even if the moment only lasted, well, a minute. 10)Mark Lawson's hot. Do you think it would be against FCC rules if they 'accidentally' show him naked for like 9 seconds? That's enough time to take a picture and put it as the picture on my desktop, right? I kid, I promise. But seriously....do you think its against FCC rules if they 'accidentally' let the cameras roll during a clothing change?

Steamy Kisses, Glued Hands, Bar Punches and Hangovers

Becky's waking up with a hell of a hangover today, huh? And poor Dante, he wanted some booty but took the chivalrous route and decided not to take advantage of her. I hadn't realized Molly and Nik were related; I usually forget since they never interact with each other. It's good to see older characters interacting with younger ones, and not only so that they can sabotage others or scold the younger ones. Molly and Nik are actually having a conversation, which is a change from the usual route soaps take when putting the younger ones with the older characters. How funny is it that Alexis scolds Molly immediately but thinks Kristina's perfect and is taking the rap for something that her 'perfect daughter' did.

Carly walked in on a heated discussion between Olivia and Dante's partner at the hip new place to be, the Port Chuck Laundr-O-Mat. Clothes have never been so dirty. lol And how much laundry does this guy need, anyway? Everytime I see him he's in either the same outfit or something so similar I have to do a double take just to ensure myself it's not the same outfit. He's forever washing clothes. He must have alot of quarters. Anyway, the partner seemingly covered his tracks, but our Caroline is no fool. She knows Olivia's keeping something from her. Olivia's not a good liar. At all. You know that saying, 'the eyes don't lie?' or 'the eyes speak what the mouth will not?' Olivia needs to have both tattooed on her ass. And scouting new washers and dryers at a rundown laundromat for an upscale hotel is a really rotten cover. Carly may have acted like she let the issue drop, but she's a persistent one. She's not going to completely let it go. Carly's better half, however, knows that Olivia's son, Dante, is the undercover cop in Sonny's organization and that he is Sonny's child as well. I wonder what he's going to do with that information. He is of the same mind as Olivia and most of Port Charles for that matter, in that Sonny's parenting skills need alot of work and he understands the need to protect one's children. On the other hand, I believe Jax is a stand up guy at heart, even if his actions don't display that at times, and I think he'd want any father, even Sonny, to know about his child. I wonder why Dante hasn't shared any time on screen with his cousin Connie. He hasn't even mentioned her, now that I'm thinking about it. Port Chuck is a small town, but not that small.

In comedic ER scenes of the day, Lulu glued her hand to her hair, which prompted Matt to tell her about him gluing his lips together in college. Dante figured it out immediately upon seeing her at the hospital and called her on it. I gotta admit, I kinda like Matt and Lulu together, but it looks like they're going to be testing Dante and Lulu together for the time being. I've made it no secret that I liked Johnny and Lulu together and it pissed me off that they broke up, so I will probably always like them better. This thing with Dante is no Johnny and Lulu, Runaway Love kinda thing, but I could get used to something different. I wonder how Johnny will react to possibly seeing Lulu with someone new. Lulu's had to watch Johnny with Maxie, even before they broke up, and she was a factor in their eventual parting. Then she had to watch him with Olivia, and that's just way too tied in here. Her boyfriend was almost hooking up with her co-worker, now he's moved on to her boss' cousin, who happens to be the manager at her own cousin's hotel. What a tangled web, huh? My point is that Lulu has had to watch Johnny pay her no mind and move on to other women and she's had nobody since then, save for the day or two Luke had her pretending to date Ethan to get Tracy to spill the beans. It will be nice to see the shoe on the other foot; I wonder if seeing Lulu with Dante, especially since he's a supposed fellow mobster, will make Johnny squirm, at least for a little while. It would probably piss her off a little to learn that his mother is Johnny's new girlfriend and her cousin's ex-husband's long-lost son. Again, just a little too connected here.

Johnny made a huge misstep by talking about Olivia's sack skills and got decked for it by Dante. Too funny. It was so unexpected but I had a feeling it was coming at some point; not only does Dante seem protective of his mother anyway, he doesn't like anything Johnny or guys like Johnny stand for. There was bound to be a punch sometime. Add that to the fact that this guy is dating his mother and is the ex-boyfriend of a girl he's beginning to dig on? Johnny's really not racking up the points here, is he? At least Sonny's redemption point is that he's Dante's father and was just as in the dark as Dante was. Of course, this being the soap world and everything, Olivia's going to be the martyr, the protective mother who kept her child from a life of sin and raised him to be the exact opposite of his father, while Sonny's gonna be dodging tomatoes again for being a deadbeat dad and not coming back to Bensonhurst to see if he had a kid layin around anywhere. That's usually the way it goes. Instead of being angry at Olivia, Dante will be mad at Sonny instead. Sigh....I hope it doesn't turn out that way. For once, let's not blame Sonny. He'll make up for us giving him that leeway by messing up again at some point anyway.

Lucky decided to give Elizabeth the martyr role of helping Nik but doesn't realize she'd just shared a really steamy kiss with the Brooding Prince. Btw, how hot was that? Liz says it shouldn't happen again, but the look in her eyes told me that not only would she not be angry if it did happen again, she was probably thinking about the last time it happened when she was saying that it can't happen anymore. The problem is, I don't think they want to stay away from each other, which is why Liz isn't fighting the issue of staying with Nik so much. Some would say that the Maternal One is a rebound or that Nik's using her to blunt the pain that Rebecca caused and I would be more liable to go with the latter option, but a bigger thing is that this is years of attraction and tension finally coming to the surface. Before, someone was always in the way, whether it was Emily, Jason, Nadine, Lucky, or their long-lasting friendship with each other. Let's see how long that's gonna last. Naturally, since Jason's gonna get busy this week, Liz's time is coming too.

Thursday Suds--AMC

I really wish Frankie had put his foot down and stayed adamant that they couldn't keep the baby. Randi is completely ignoring that their marriage needs to be fixed and Frankie's trust is kind of lost in her for keeping North's death a secret from him. Granted, she had a good reason for keeping the secret, but that doesn't change the fact that Frankie's trust is lost. She needs to fix that instead of using the baby as a Band-Aid for their problems. And like Frankie, I think Randi owes Angie an apology for blowing up at her at the hospital the other day. Angie hit the nail on the head with both of them, and both of them acted disrespectfully towards her. I have never fully agreed with how Frankie treats his parents; I think he takes them for granted and lashes out at them whenever he receives the opportunity. All 4 of these adults need to work on regaining trust.

Ryan is beginning to irritate me. I know that he is concerned for Emma's safety, but just because something involves Annie or Adam does not mean it involves him or that it's even his business. He should know by now that trying to interrogate Zach isn't going to get him anywhere. Most of their conversations are so pointless because of that fact. And why is Liza popping up all the time? Zach has made it perfectly obvious that he doesn't really want or need to be around Liza, especially with this thing about Kendall supposedly not wanting to see anyone while she's in prison. So she has no real purpose; an appeal doesn't have to be discussed daily, especially with a husband who is not receptive or encouraging at all of the effort. I understand Kendall's claim that Zach is keeping her prisoner. She knows how important control is to Zach, and he didn't have any control over his life or feelings when she slept with Aidan or Ryan. Now that she is in the house and can't do anything but stay in the room, he has retained control and doesn't have to deal with her if he doesn't want to. Her life is in his hands, and they both know it. She seems to think he is abusing that and giving her a little payback at the same time. He may have saved her from prison bars and given her the opportunity to see her kids when she wants, but now she's in his prison, can't do anything unless he says so, and he holds all the control. I can understand that viewpoint.

It seems Erica and Krystal are not getting along so well as safari roommates. I thought this was going to be Susan Lucci's send-off since she may not be making the leap to LA, but I'm glad its not and they are showing Krystal and Erica's trek to my motherland. :) I hope that they can come out of this at least understanding each other. It's gonna be funny to watch. Erica and Krystal both have their judgments about each other, like Krystal assuming Erica was just another uninformed celebrity using her name for self-profit and to better her image to others, and Erica proved her wrong by calling her a bitch in Swahili. lol Erica assumes that Krystal is just a lowlife bitch, but Krystal sadly has yet to prove her wrong about that. lol She has proved that she understands the children a bit more than Erica thought, though. Wonder how they're gonna handle the scorpion attack on our Kween Krystal.

Where is this going with Annie and Adam and them? lol One week Scott won't make a decision about her, the next he's believing she's not guilty of trying to kill Adam or Stuart, the next he's impulsively kissing her, and the next he's calling her a golddigger. What's going on with this? Some would say he's changing his opinion as he interacts more with her and learns more about her, but I still call it flip-floppy and indecisiveness on the writers' part for not knowing where to take the storyline. They're writing Annie's character into a corner, if they haven't already done so, and now they're trying to figure out how to get her out. They're trying to make us viewers believe that Annie is in control of herself, but we can't figure out anyone's motives or if Annie really is sane again or just doing a damn good job of pretending. I don't like how Annie is using Stuart's murder to get off of her charges by constantly throwing the fact she saved Adam's life that night in everyone's face, so I would like Adam to know that Annie is using him, have him help her get off of the charges, and then make her permanently indebted to him and give her hell. I can't see Annie using a death for selfish benefits, but I dunno. Maybe she's a new woman now that she's back from the crazy train. Scott totally wants her though. haha

It wouldn't be like Kendall could contest it anyway, and knowing Zach doesn't want her anymore is ripping her apart. 2)I want to see Scott and Annie hook up. Am I alone in that? 3)How did Erica and Krystal possibly get to Africa, get settled and already interact with the citizens in two days? Just two days ago Erica had a night on the town with Ryan, which means they would have left yesterday. How'd they already get there by today? Damn time changes. lol 4)I thought Annie's outfit today was cute. 5)I wonder what this new book is that Kendall's writing. Will it be another Charm effort to bring Fusion from the brink? 6)Kendall's heart was bothering her at the end of the episode today. How are they going to handle it when she collapses tomorrow? It's safe to say Jesse is tied up in his own mess at the moment so it's unknown if Zach is going to call Jesse to help, btw his family still has no idea he's working outside of the law there either so I wonder what that's going to do to Jesse and Angie's marriage/family unit once yet another secret comes out. I guess it's a good thing that it's all tied in together. 7)I don't think it's dawned yet on Jesse that he's keeping another secret from his family. There have been so many secrets and evasions and lies that I'm not sure he remembers all of them. lol

Seances, Stalkers and Blackmail, Oh My! OLTL Midweek Mashup

Not much to say for OLTL's midweek mashup.

Langston's still getting on my nerves a bit. She's asking so many questions. I know she's used to Starr telling her everything, but its obvious Starr doesn't want to talk about it. Let it go. And stop pestering Starr. David's reality show where he's putting everyone's deeds on blast kind of parodies the show in a dry, sarcastic way and I find it pretty funny. Markko's face was priceless when Clint came in the room with the gun. That was a total throwback to Asa and how he probably would have handled Vickers and a camera crew coming into his house uninvited. Poor Nigel; he was hoodwinked, tickled, chastised and thrown aside. lol Guess that's the life of a butler.

I don't like Nora and Bo's attorney very much, but the only good thing that came out of it was that I was able to see a little more into their point of view. Matthew did make an impulsive decision to jump in the car with Cole that night, despite Cole's attempts to make him stay there, and it could be viewed as another impulsive decision to fight his parents about the surgery, despite the life-threatening risks. Matthew's judgment was at fault here and the lawyer brought that to light. I understand more about Nora and Bo's viewpoint now, although I have to admit, I'm still leaning a bit towards Matthew at this point.

Tea is obviously shaken by whatever this attorney has on her, but her poker face is awesome and she's doing a pretty good job of pretending that it's not bothering her.

I thought it was a little funny watching Jessica with Delphina today; she was very obviously skeptical but when the doors blew open, she was quick to call out for Nash. I really wish it was him, but knowing that its not, I wonder where the writers are going with this angle. Recasting the role could be disastrous as Forbes' March's Nash gave him and Jessica/Tess supercouple status and he was very popular in the role. Many fans want him back, so recasting the role may not be possible, especially since the pictures they keep showing are all of Forbes March and not a lookalike.

Operation Baby Drop.....Goes Awry. AMC Midweek Mashup

Okay, it's 6:36 my time and I have to give two days' worth of AMC bitchin' before OLTL comes on so bear with me.

I hadn't realized the good part of Jake not giving Liza Amanda's baby. Liza wanted another baby; she saw this as her way of correcting the wrongs she'd made with Colby, and if she'd kept Amanda's baby she would eventually have to give the baby back. At first, I feared that Liza would become obsessed with the baby and not give him back when Amanda inevitably changed her mind. But now that we're finding out that baby Stuart is not baby Hayward after all, it means Jake still did his job of hiding Trevor and gave Liza a gift of her own at the same time. It was a smarter move than I thought.

That's pretty much the only thing I can say is smart about the entire storyline. They can't report the baby missing because technically, they're not supposed to have a baby. But if they don't report the baby, someone will get away with stealing him. Tad, as a parent who not too long ago got his child back, and Amanda, who is supposedly willing to do anything to keep the baby from David, should be smarter than to leave a baby outside and wait for Opal to pick up the baby. God bless Joe's heart, but I wanted to yell at him to shut up and let Opal be. Otherwise, Randi wouldn't have picked up the child and thought it was a glaring sign from God.

I feel for Randi and the loss of her child. I feel sorry for any mother who has suffered a miscarriage. Not to say I don't feel sorry for the fathers too, but as a woman(regardless of the fact I am not a parent myself) I know it feels different for a mother to lose the child she is carrying and can feel inside of her day in and day out. One day it's there and one day it's not. It can be traumatizing, especially for first-time mothers who are just getting used to the newness of it all and in the blink of an eye, it's gone. However, with that loss Randi should know that taking the baby to the police is the best thing. Tad is never going to think to ask Frankie or Randi if they just happened to see a missing baby around, so they're literally going to run circles around each other.

Speaking of the Hubbards, I love Frankie but he's a pighead. He asked Jesse today why Jesse didn't tell him that North tried to rape Randi. Frankie, I realize that was the reason why Randi killed North, but the bigger thing is that North was killed. By Randi. So Jesse couldn't tell Frankie what North did, because then he would have had to tell him everything and Jesse couldn't do that. I know some will say he should have just told Angie, but I see why he didn't. I mean, how do you approach that? There's so many layers to it. I can see now how that conversation would have went down. Angie and Jesse would be sitting down to dinner and coincidentally, Frankie and Randi would have made an impromptu visit. Well of course being the parents they are, Angie and Jesse would have invited them to eat. I can imagine how the conversation would have went down. Randi would have kicked it off. "Oh yeah Frankie and Angie, you remember that DA they found in the ditch, Henry North? I totally killed him. Jesse knows all about it. Tell 'em, pops." And Jesse would chime in with, "Well we all know Randi used to turn tricks. One of the lucky tricks was North. He tried to rape her, so she axed him. I found her and of course we had to hide it, what else to do, right? So we tossed him under a food service cart, put him in a car and pushed that bitch over the edge. His wife, you know, the drunk blonde that keeps stalking Frankie? Well she knows all about it. Our silence is helping her get the insurance money from when North bought the farm. If we tell, she does too. Well, guess that's it in a nutshell. Pass the potatoes, Angela." Oh yeah Frankie, that'll go over REAL well.

I still think Frankie owes his mother an apology for how he unceremoniously tossed her out of his apartment yesterday. I am a huge advocate of respecting your elders and he had no right to talk to Angie that way yesterday, whether he's a grown man and didn't like what she was saying to him or not. I think he was so angry about it because deep down, he'd already figured the same thing and Angie voicing his suspicions only brought what he kind of already knew to the surface. It was too painful to admit he'd come to the same conclusion, so he took his anger and denial out on his mom. Within the last few minutes of the show today, I was able to see Jesse and Angie finally come together. That's when it dawned on me that they've been worlds apart for a long time. It was nice to see them presenting a united front in the face of a crisis, even though that's what tore them apart in the first place.

Moving on, I thought it was cute how Kendall tried to make dinner for her and Zach. I have always loved Kendall's determination, and she is obviously using her confinement to her advantage and using this time with Zach to try and win him back. More on that later. Liza came in and interrupted, and Zach had to smash a glass to get her to leave. I wanted her to leave too. lol Even though she wishes and is probably going to try at some point to get Zach for herself, I think she knows he will always love Kendall more than he could ever love any other woman. That ties right into what I was going to say about Zendall--Zach's love for Kendall is never far from the surface, as a matter of fact it never leaves the surface, but he is still very hurt by her betrayal and I don't expect him to forget it yet. But will he give into his love for Kendall and let that win out is the real question. Zach has lost confidence in Kendall as a person, but I think he's also lost trust and respect for her as well. Twice she's burned him and I think Zach is a full advocate of the 'Burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me' concept and he's not letting himself, or her, forget it. He's not mad at himself for trusting her, he's mad at himself for allowing himself to be hurt by someone else, because that means he left himself vulnerable for attack. For someone like Zach Slater, vulnerability isn't in his dictionary. He's always on his guard and poised for whatever comes his way. And he allowed someone in. Gave them power to hurt him. And Kendall used that power to do the very thing Zach feared--she hurt him. And now he's angry at himself for giving someone else the power in the first place. I was so sad for him when he told her last week, "You broke my trust and you broke my heart." It takes alot for Zach to admit he's been hurt by anything; he's an enigma, even to Kendall. But that admission shows us just how much he was affected by her sleeping with Ryan. Sleeping in the sacred Zendall bed with another man seemed to have been the last nail in the coffin, though. Despite his broken heart at Kendall's hands and his claims that she won't get anything else from him but protection, it doesn't erase love and I believe Zach will eventually be willing to give them another try, but because his heart won't give him another choice. He knows that in his lifetime, there will never be another Kendall for him. She's it for him. And he knows it. She does too. Kendall's got her work cut out for her, but I think her confinement can end up being kinda romantic. She gets Zach all to herself for a little while. That is, if people stop conveniently picking times to come pester him and he stops finding reasons to escape the house, and her, which implies to me that staying away from her is harder than he's making it look. As for the others though, with Ryan and Erica in NY and Jesse tied up in his own mess, they should have a little more time. Unfortunately, that's going to get cut short according to promos, when Kendall's heart gives her trouble and she collapses. I wonder how they're going to explain that.

I'm almost an hour behind, so I gotta cut this short so that I can do my OLTL mashup.

I see the makings of a young Palmer or Adam in young Pete, I think they should run with that and give him the bad boy edge they're trying to give Scott. 2)How cute were Ryan and Erica yesterday? Still not hot on the romance perspective, but it was cute and they were able to show NY in all its glory. I think Erica's trip to NY was just an excuse to get some remote shots of the city before the show moves. 3)Angie looks good with straight hair. 4)Where are they going with this David and Liza angle? 5)Darnell Williams looks good in snug black t-shirts. Steal some shirts from Steve Burton's rack over at GH and give them to him. Keep him in them..or no shirt at all...as much as humanly possible. Storyline related or not, I won't complain.

Randomisms before Reviews

AMC 8/17/09 --Marissa had me angry at first by actually being mad that JR had the gall to choose little Adam over her. Are you serious right now, Marissa? Really? David has spent the better part of the past year doing almost nothing except trying to get Adam away from JR. So if at any time he mentions that he is willing to stop, any parent would say yes. Get over yourself and be a woman, Marissa. You should have encouraged him to make sure his son was safe at all costs. No relationship is worth that, especially one that hasn't even technically begun yet. But JR got some sage advice from a bitter Scott and decided to go back and fight. I still don't like Marissa but I guess we'll have to see where this thing with JR goes.

I liked seeing Krystal and Erica actually discussing something besides men and catfights. I don't know how this ties into the move to LA that AMC will be making in January, but if both women go on this trip to Africa, I would like to see them emerge from it with at least a grudging respect for each other. Since Krystal got with David, her friendship with Angie kind of fell by the wayside, and Erica's never really had a female friend, excluding her assistant, who I haven't seen in about as long as it's been since I've seen Carmen. By the way, where the hell is she? Did she go wait for Mando to get out of prison? haha Both of them are not too far apart in age, they're more alike than either of them care to admit, they both love Tad and they are uniting for the greater good. Not to mention, they could both use a female friend. From my mouth to Frons' ears.

It was good for me to see Liza displaying some real emotion about her mother. It was long overdue. She has seemed almost emotionless, save for the constant squinty eyes, about almost everything, including Marian's very obvious dislike of Liza's defending Kendall. Yesterday she lost it for a moment and showed some emotion, finally. It seemed at first that nothing was affecting her but it's good to see the facade drop, even if only for a little while. I do find it awful weird though that she can go from losing her composure in the hospital to all pulled together, googly-eyed at Zach at the Chandler mansion not even 12 hours later. Some people can't stand to be vulnerable, I guess. But you don't get over the fear of your mother never coming back to being obsessed with a man that quickly. It just doesn't happen.

Cat and Mouse...and Kate--GH 8/11/09

Maxie has elevated from putting her foot in her mouth; it's now at a steady rate towards her esophagus. And it officially hit her intestines when Kate decided to be opportunistic about the wedding and Maxie decided on September. I think the best thing Maxie could have done was just to sit Spinelli down, tell him to stop trying to badger her with a proposal, and tell him why her view is so low when it comes to marriage. The boy is annoying, but I admired his courage with Mac and for that, he at least deserves honesty from her. I thought it was funny how Robin and Patrick added fuel to the fire, and poor Spinelli fainted dead away. Kate proved that she's no longer Connie from the Block by making Maxie's marriage an event for her stupid magazine, which Maxie practically runs by herself. I don't suspect Maxie saying anything until it's too late, so it will inevitably come out in a dramatic scene and break Spinelli's heart.

I wish Olivia and Kate were closer, I really do. But Kate's an unapologetic snob. It won't change. It was stupid to put Megan Ward on recurring; Kate's storylines have so much potential, even if her fan base as Kate isn't so strong; do something else with her character, stop making us hate her and there won't be a problem. Olivia still resents Connie for basically 'creating' Kate and turning her back on the family, while Kate resents Olivia for making her keep Dante a secret from Sonny, a secret that seems more on the edge of failure than success. More people know Dante's face and have seen him with Olivia. Olivia knows that Dante is unknowingly trying to take down his father, so what is she going to do? Furthermore, how will this impact Dante and his undercover status; I gotta tell you, Sonny is really starting to slip in his older days. Had this been just a few years ago, he would have sniffed Dante out as a copper immediately. He would have checked out what Olivia was doing back in Bensonhurst in the years she was away. But not only is he interacting with his son, who is on his way to taking him down, he has no idea he's a cop and he's got even less of a clue that that's his child. According to spoilers, Carly is going to put things together when she sees him and Morgan again. Taking your own brother hostage and not realizing it......that's gotta be a hell of a pill to swallow. So when Dante inevitably learns Sonny is his father, will he continue doing his job with the same amount of dedication, will it increase (we know his opinion of Sonny can't be too high already), or will it decrease since he knows it's Olivia's fault he doesn't know his father and will try to mend fences?And damnit if Olivia doesn't still have that token.

Kristina was really getting on my nerves today. Michael was telling her the truth about Jerry and she didn't have anything but excuses for why Jerry locked them in the room. It should have been obvious to her that he wasn't concerned for them, despite his seemingly good deeds. It provides proof that book smarts don't equal street smarts. There's a man standing outside your room, Kristina. Nobody knows you're there. You can't escape. He. Is. Trapping. You. Just admit it. You also know you're the one that caused Claudia's accident, but you're letting Michael continue to schlep you around the world because of his guilt. Not a good move. Speaking of K, what's up with Kiefer? Other than the fact that he's obviously on the abusive side of the spectrum, I'm not interested in him as a character. They tried bringing him in with Kristina. They gave him the conflict with Michael. They tried the abuse thing. They tried having him save her when she caused the accident. That's one thing---he claimed to not care about her anymore when he dumped her for that other girl, but then she calls him in trouble and he's right there? Is it a need to control her or something? It makes no sense. Some say that Kiefer caused the accident but it doesn't add up. The character has no depth, no real reason to be there.

The Randomness:
1)Although I like Johnny and Olivia together (not as much as I like him with Lulu but I digress), I think she finds him as an escape from the lies of her past and the storm in the future and he finds her as a breath of fresh air that is also free from lies, or so he thinks. Their relationship is about living in the moment, something they both need. 2)Diane is awesome. That's all. 3) What will happen once Lucky finds out Dante is actually on the right side of the law? I doubt it'll make him like Dante any, but I wonder how this will affect their interactions. Will Lucky try to use Dante's insider position as his way to get info for the PCPD? 4)Funny how Lucky and Ethan teamed up to beat up Dante because they think he's a thug, when actually it's Ethan running scams; Dante's just doing his job of simply appearing as a thug. 5)I liked Maxie's shirt today. 6)I find it funny that Olivia's always offering to feed Johnny when he comes over. She's such a mom. 7)Michael's plan to take down Jerry's guy was kinda funny. The guy could easily overpower him in 8 seconds. I wanted to shake Kristina for just standing there. 8)What a funny comparison--at the same time that Jason was fighting Jerry, Michael (Jason Jr.) was strongarming Jerry's cronie. Coincidence? I think not. 9)What happened to the friendship between Alexis, Kate and Diane? Kate may be a bitch, but I think she still needs a good female friend. 10)Speaking of Kate, what happened to that other editor stealing her stories for Couture?

Oh, David!! --OLTL

Am I the only one who finds the Blair/Todd/Tea triangle a bit stupid? Anyone with half a brain knows that Todd and Blair will find their way back to each other at some point; I think Blair needs a man that's not already a resident of Llanview so that she can move on and stop her obsession with Todd's life. It absolutely eats at her that Tea, her worst enemy, admits the same thing and gets the guy, while she admits the same thing, and not only does not get the guy, but she has to watch them cavorting under her roof, at Dorian's suggestion, no less. For a petty woman like Blair, that's hell on earth. Rex obviously sees a little bit of Stacy in Blair's act, and I thought it was kinda funny when he called it on her and she hit the roof. The only reason she got mad in my opinion is because Rex hit the nail on the head and she wasn't ready to admit she was being petty, both to others and to herself. Rex seems less willing to help wreck others for selfish gains due to his stuff with Stacy, and I realized he has emerged from this slightly more mature....when the need calls for it, like with his conversation with Blair today. It was a more mature Rex who was thinking about the real reason Blair called on him to help, but since Blair's only asking him to dig up dirt, I don't think it would be bad for him to take the case.

I think it was a mature thing for Tea and Todd to finally talk about how they like where the relationship is going without just living in the moment and having sex. One thing I have noticed about Todd since the thing with Marty is that he's more open with his feelings and able to admit to these feelings instead of playing coy and letting the woman put herself on the line. While that's fine and dandy, how are we supposed to just put his unpunished past aside and accept this new Casanova vibe he's got going on? I'm not saying he should be exiled or anything; he should go on with his life, but I also think that it should be a little hard for him; he can't just go back to regular life after another almost rape conviction...on the same victim. The only one who hasn't seemed to forget is Marty, with reason. Tea only remembers the parts that hurt her personally, the 'rape' not being one of them. Personally I don't think this last instance with Marty was rape in a way. Because she had amnesia and therefore did not remember Todd was her rapist from back in college, I agree. But despite the amnesia and her lack of remembering, she was still of sound mind when she agreed to sleep with him. I dunno. I know for sure the first time was rape. This second time I would say it was more like fraud. lol I dunno. I wonder what this Elijah Clarke has on Teabag, I think there's a little Tea Tot lurking somewhere. She has seemed to visibly age and pale with this new attorney in town. I think she knows he's not bluffing.

I was dismayed to see Langston and Markko arguing today. I was slightly annoyed by the fact that Langston got mad at Markko for bailing on their date when she should know exactly why he's busting his ass off in the first place. I don't want Markko's parents disowning him to end up breaking up him and Langston; in a city full of backstabbing I find it refreshing that these two have been mature and responsible in their relationship with each other. It's stable and obviously about love, no secrets or anything involved. So I know the writers are probably giving them some problems due to Markko's situation and to be honest problems are to be expected in a situation like this, but I hope they can be strong enough not to let it tear them apart. Langston's biggest fear seems to be losing Markko or having him resent her over time and then breaking up with her. Markko's got a lot on his plate right now; this is the time for Langston to be there as much as she can.

Eddie Alderson has really come into his own over the past year and a half or so. He's getting bigger storylines and he can handle them. He's got good range and the writers are allowing him to use it. It's a little underhanded of Matthew to threaten Bo and Nora with blackmail in order to get his way, but 1)he's a child; 2)it was very obviously the move of a desperate boy. I think both sides are making the mistake of not listening to each other; moreso Bo and Nora not listening to Matthew. Someone can tell you what it's like to walk in their shoes, but you never truly know what it's like until you actually put the shoes on and take the walk yourself. Bo and Nora have every right to be concerned; their son is already in a wheelchair and like any loving parents, they don't want to lose their son on the operating table. But he wants his life back and that's not a crime. Someone is offering to open the window for him since the door was closed on him being able to walk, but Bo and Nora are trying their hardest to shut it.

And the big elephant in the room--David Vickers is back. Again. And now he's using his former hometown as the basis for his newest reality show. Dorian made the mistake of thinking he really wanted to hear about her problems, when he was really using her as a prop to get information on what's been happening in Llanview since his last visit. Dorian's reaction to finding the camera crew behind the bushes was hilarious. Robin Strasser has the irritating 'dame of the mansion' shrill down pat and that's funny too. For some reason though, I still can't get the Grey Gardens thing out of my head. lol I've realized that David really doesn't have a soul, any depth; but for him the one-dimensional thing works. When he does find something he likes or that gives him money and fame, he throws himself completely into it. It's usually a scam, but you gotta admire the guy's dedication. :)

The Randomness:
1)Dorian unconsciously listening to the cameraguy and turning to smile before she realized what was going on was pretty funny. 2)Blair's outfit was adorable; I want the whole thing! Very light and summery. 3)I noticed there weren't anymore streaks in Langston's hair, but I like the new color. 4)I recognize Bo and Nora's attorney; he used to play Terry McDermott on AMC. 5)I think Greg is going to make the move in on Rachel before the summer is out. 6)Does anyone know how long Florencia Lozano is staying with the show? 7)Todd and Tea's game of 'uncle' seemed alot like their view of roleplay. It was kinda sexy. lol 8) I don't think Rex owed Blair an apology at all, but her pride was messed up when Rex guessed exactly what she was doing, and since she's still in denial, she thought the apology would help. Um, ok Blair....9)I like the relationship between Destiny and Shawn. It's a good thing to have; I'd like to see more of it. 10)I purposely chose that for the line of the day. It could start its own post with just how tongue-in-cheek it was. I don't agree with how glib the writers chose to be when he delivered that lin, but it fits in with Todd's dry humor.

Tuning in on Tuesday

I liked the conversation between David and Scott today. It gave me more insight into who David is really at the core of his soul, and I like how Scott seemed to be drinking it up. I wonder if this is signaling a character shift in the future. I was able to see that David is conscious of his decisions, but it goes against the grain of his character to acknowledge and feed into the regrets that he doesn't allow himself to feel. He doesn't allow himself to feel because even though it will motivate him to change, it won't change the fact that he already knows, and always does, revert back to form. Basically, he said if you become a badass, a cheetah can't change its spots and that will be who you are. He didn't glamorize his behavior to Scott, he gave both sides. I wonder how Scott is going to use that to grab the girl. Annie's and David's advice and one boy who's falling fast so he'll listen to anything? This could spell trouble. Now me personally, I'd sooner contact OLTL's Madame Delphina before I take advice from ANY Pine Valley resident. They can't even control their own lives; I don't want their wonky decisions anywhere near mine.

I've realized the statement "You can't do anything" doesn't register in Erica's vocabulary. While that works sometimes because I know that Erica's determination gets her places, on the other hand it just makes her look and sound like she's meddling. What Annie and Adam do is none of her business. She has no room to meddle in a relationship that has nothing even remotely to do with her. Zach and Kendall, I can sort of understand her desire to interfere. However, Kendall is still Zach's wife, is a grown woman capable of making her own decisions, and has her own family to be concerned with. Erica has to learn her place.....anyway, why am I feeling cold from this Erica/Ryan pairing the writers are obviously going to make us endure? It just does nothing for me. I liked it better when she was with Adam or trying to rekindle her relationship with Jackie Boy, who seems to have gotten some off-screen advice from David on how to be a badass and resist Erica's so-called drugging charms. How funny is it that Erica wanted Ryan to stay away from Kendall and is now starting to fall for him herself just a few months later.

You know, I'm beginning to think maybe Adam shot Stuart. Annie seems so intent on Emma not telling anyone what she saw that night and after Adam's flashback it's obvious he saw Stuart being mistaken for him and shot; we saw Adam's reaction when Aidan and Annie told him Stuart was dead and it was nothing like the flashback we just saw. What I am thinking is that Adam mistook Stuart for someone else in the night and shot at him to protect himself, which Annie and Emma saw. Emma can't tell anyone that Adam really did it because if she does, then Adam (Annie's latest life preserver) will go to prison and she won't have a chance in hell of getting Emma back. I like this new sass about Annie, but I don't like the 'belle of the manor' attitude she's got going on. It doesn't match who I have always believed Annie to be. The only time she had a sense of entitlement was with Ryan and for all logical purposes, because of the hell he put her through, I'm inclined to agree slightly. But the way she was treating the staff (Lacretia obviously doesn't like her at all lol) and the whole bell thing? Really doesn't seem like Annie to me. I'm glad the writers did away with Annie's crazy killer thoughts when someone gets her goat. It was getting irritating playing the 'is or isn't she' more than I already do. I do like her with Scott though; her new fiestier attitude and her returned sanity would match perfectly with Scott's new spontaneity.

Of all the stunts and excuses Zach had over the years, this Invismommy thing he's got going on so that Kendall can see the boys is excessively stupid. I find it hard to believe that he masterminded her entire escape and foiled prison stunt but can't come up with a better excuse than that seeing Kendall for the next 15 years or so is just a figment of Ian and Spike's imaginations. That excuse may work when the boys are this young because children cope with potentially traumatizing situations, such as losing a parent, in different ways. For example, when my grandmother died when I was 4, I had a slightly morbid obsession with it for some time afterwards. Not only did I become obsessed and terrified with it, but for awhile afterward whenever I played dolls or played anything for that matter, someone died. All my dolls eventually died. If I was playing with someone else, one of us died. It sounds morbid, but that was my mind's way of dealing with my grandma's death. So the concept that maybe one child sees his mother when she's supposed to be in jail is believable, at around Spike's age. However, if I were Ryan or Erica and heard that my 13 year old grandson or son was still seeing his incarcerated mother and spoke to her, I would either think that something was up or that he needs psychological evaluation. And so would anyone else who really cares about those children. Ryan's become the junior detective, he for sure would feel that something was up, especially after Emma's recently alarming behaviors. North saw Emma's behavior as well and seems to be along the same pattern as Ryan that maybe Emma could turn out like Annie. That knowledge should have Ryan's guard up about the situations his children are going through and how it is affecting them mentally. The Invisimommy concept was an elementary excuse on Zach's part though. He's so intent on proving Annie's guilt that he's starting to slip a little himself. I don't think Zach identifies much as a person unless he's helping someone, usually Kendall, out of a jam. That's all he seems to be doing. His motives are selfish, but he's still unwaveringly loyal and despite his blinding God complex, that loyalty is commendable. I find it disgusting how Jesse was roped into this life of living outside the law though; wasn't it him a year ago who was saying that the law and being a cop was his life? And now he's willing to break it---for Zach and Kendall, who have made up almost his entire list of cases since he was sworn in as chief? I don't get it. I wasn't around for the original run of Jesse and Angie but I can't help but feel that after all the history brought into their welcome back story that they are destroying Jesse's character. Ugh.

1)Didn't Alicia Minshew's little belly look cute today? Usually they shoot her from the chest up but you could see it in its tiny glory today...she's gonna look so adorable. 2)AMC's move to January worries me more and more everyday. I see the potential for several storylines going long-term, but what if the actors aren't willing to move to LA to continue with the soap? 3)Speaking of the move, it makes me angrier that they killed off Babe. Both Alexa Havins and Amanda Baker are out West now....it would be perfect to bring Babe back, especially with her sister on the show. 4)Why does Marissa's constant voice of reason and ne'er do bad attitude annoy me so much? I have said before that the soap world is missing more good girls; it seems that all writers think that we viewers only want bad girls ruling the screen. So not true--look at OLTL's Viki!! So why Marissa bugs me so much is still an enigma to me.

Summer Soap Blues

Not much to say on this front; the summer storylines have fizzled out and lost all their interest with me. Knowing that Chrishell Stause is leaving at the end of the year, I wonder how she is going to leave town and wrap up this story, but I'm not too invested in it. The lies are getting tiresome, as is David's endless snooping. I feel that he is entitled to know and wonder about the whereabouts of his child, but I understand why the Martin Wrecking Crew..and Taylor are going to such extreme measures to keep Trevor from him. On the other hand however, David is a very smart man. I know he can tell when something is up, and if it has to do with his child, he's going to see it through. Like David or don't, he's had alot of pain in his life, most of it being attributed to losing his children. In one year alone he's lost Babe, the baby Krystal was carrying and Trevor....or so he thinks. Despite the fact I know David is rotten to his bones and I know he wouldn't do anything but corrupt the child, I can't help but feel a little bad that he is being kept from his child now. I think in spite of herself, Amanda feels bad too. Speaking of Martins, I think it's good that Krystal, for once, is not the light in Tad's eye. I like watching her be jealous and squirm while he's off with Taylor. One thing about Krystal is that no matter how fleeting it may be, she comes by love rather easily. I don't know what it is about her, but men seem to be captivated by her--Adam, Tad, David--watched them all drop to their knees with love for the woman. And what did she do to all three of them? Betray them in some form. In that respect, what's to love, really? So for her to be the outsider for once is refreshing. I think she expected Tad to keep groveling to her and when he finally got the hint and found it elsewhere, her ego and her own buried feelings were hurt by it. I say get over it, Ms. Carey. It's high time you were alone for longer than 3 weeks.

I love Kendall, I do. But one thing I have always despised about her is that if she is guilty of something, it's in every other sentence coming out of her mouth. "I killed Greenlee!" "I killed Stuart!" "I slept with Aidan!" Ugh....we know, Kendall. Let it go. It's annoying hearing her wail that every 10 seconds. I'm so tired of Zach trying to play God. Within the past year he has increased his God complex tenfold. It used to be romantic how he would do whatever he needed to do in order to protect the woman he loves. But he's running in circles now, and what I once viewed as romantic is now just irritating and monotonous. He was slightly redeemed though, when he uttered my favorite two words this week when he was talking to Adam: "Mah wife." Loved it!!! Btw many many congrats to Alicia Minshew and her husband Richie and their upcoming bundle of joy. I wonder how they're gonna account for Alicia's weight gain since a pregnancy is not in the cards for Mrs. Slater at the moment. Any tongue-in-cheek fat jokes in prison? Probably not. If they don't go the typical soap route of putting her in all black, putting her in prison and forgetting about her (p.s. NOT GONNA HAPPEN, she's Alicia frickin Minshew), putting her in yet another coma (what would be the reason for the near-death situation this time? And 6 months of coma? Ehh....could get tiring, even with Kendall's dry and often funny voice-overs when someone enters the room) or hiding her behind totally irrelevant props (all of a sudden she'll be carrying huge plants and bigger briefcases to work), I'll be mad. If she bounces in the room, belly in the open and there's no remarks made at all, I'm boycotting. lol All jokes aside though, many congrats to the couple.

I'm more than a little tired of the Crazy Annie Carousel as well. I'm a huge Melissa Claire Egan fan and originally an even bigger Ann fan, so I was glad that the writers gave her a deeper story to sink her teeth into, as it showed that the actress has amazing range, but now the storyline is annoying. This Annie is so far removed from the Annie that came to town and it's kind of funny to compare the two because you would have never thought that underneath her calm, Earth Mother front this insane, deluded would-be killer was sleeping. On one hand its believable because I've heard it said that the worst kind of crazy is the kind wrapped up in the inconspicuous package, but on the other hand, she was so disgusted by her ex-husband Terry (whose portrayer just started a new gig on OLTL btw, he's the lawyer that's apparently got some dirt on Teabag)I don't see why she wouldn't have taken the tire iron to his head first. It's a little unbelievable that she is in this position now when she was never willing to put Emma in harm's way or use her as a ploy for someone, something she specifically stated to Kendall before. I believe she is using Adam but I can't help but suspect that Adam knows it and in his own way, is using her too. Adam's a smart man. I know he thinks something is up, although I think he is genuine in his belief that Annie is not responsible for Stuart's murder or the attempt on his own life last week. Aidan's also hard to read; it's unclear what his motives are. Is he going to get the juice on Annie by pretending to help her again and then feeding it all to Zach so they can drive her crazy and put her back in the mental ward, or is he going to allow Zach to think he's helping him so that he can take the info back to Annie and legitimately help her get better and get Emma back?

Even in Stacy's dreams her desperation to hold on to Rex is evident. Her deluded fantasy about Rex loving only her and their baby wasn't about love, it was simply having Rex for herself. Her crazy thinking that simply because she was pregnant that Rex would forget about Gigi and Shane shows that she is already off the deep end and in her own little world. Problem is, she's by herself. She miscarried the child yesterday and while I felt a little guilty about any mother, crazy or not, losing her child, it was not created out of love. It was created out of spite and a need to hold on to something that never truly belonged to her. This child used to be her only gateway to Rex; she only wants the baby because she seems to think that Rex is going to love her because of the baby. Gigi wanted her to have an abortion and coincidentally,she miscarried later that day. Is she going to blame the miscarriage on Gigi? Yes, if she doesn't lie and pretend she's still pregnant for as long as it'll hold. However, nobody else is pregnant at the moment so she can't pull a Bess and switch the babies. And good thing too---there's been enough baby switches and drawn out baby stories on this soap to last me a lifetime. I was disappointed in Gigi for offering Stacy money to abort the baby simply so she could have Rex. No matter how the baby was conceived, that is still a human life and she offered her sister money to end it. It was way below what I figured to be Gigi's level of humanity and as a mother, it should have never crossed her mind to ask another mother, mental state irrelevant, to get rid of her child. Besides that, no man is worth ending an innocent baby's life, not even one Rex Balsom. Admit it or don't, Gigi is about as desperate as Stacy. Stacy wants to have Rex, Gigi wants to hang on to him. And her lack of trust in Rex is only adding onto the damage, because she is afraid history will repeat itself. I know the abortion deal was made out of desperation, but it shows me that Stacy is not the only one willing to do something rotten to keep the guy. Gigi is rightfully worried, but I wonder how she's going to handle being blamed for Stacy's miscarriage knowing she offered to foot the bill for the abortion. It's good that she came clean to Rex about what she did though; now she has less things to hide. Unfortunately for Stacy, she's spinning another web by not telling Rex she miscarried. I'm gonna love watching her squirm for the next few months trying to hide the fact that she is indeed without child and since Rex won't be climbing back into bed with her anytime soon, she can't even get pregnant again and just throw off the conception date. She could, however, dupe Schuyler into sleeping with her again and pass that baby off as Rex's. Speaking of poor Schuyler, he's stuck between the two Morasco sisters--one his past and one he hopes to be his future. He's about to get his poor heart broken all over again and has no idea. Although, he took a chance and kissed the fairer Morasco today. I wonder how Gigi avoids being vain--just in the past year, 3 men, count them--1)Rex, who gave up on his marriage before it even began to be with her; 2)the luscious Lt.Lovett, whose memories of Gigi helped keep him alive in Iraq; and 3)sweet Sky, whose Sherlock Holmes'ing with Gigi led into feelings on his part--have fallen for Ms. Gigi Morasco. If I had three hotties in my grill like that, I don't know how I'd avoid getting a big head about it. Why do I get the feeling the once sleeping Shane is going to come downstairs and misread the situation tomorrow? I'd suggest Schuyler get arrested so that he can run into Layla, who's striking out left and right.

Cris has figured out that Fish is gay. Too bad Layla won't believe him. Fish is in deep denial of his identity as a gay man, which is a very common issue facing gays even in this society of diversity and various ways of life due to feelings of shame or 'that isn't right', but seems more intent on proving his heterosexuality to himself rather than others. His facade with others is fine, but he is keeping it up for himself as well and is trying to convince himself that he is as straight as an arrow, even though I think he knows somewhere inside himself that it isn't true. For Fish, I think he sees it as 'as long as I deny it, it's not there.' I know many people are upset by the fact that soaps are jumping into homosexual storylines, but personally, I like it. It makes the stories more realistic, more gritty and raw, and reaches out to so many people going through the same thing. It was the same thing when minorities started getting larger parts on shows and their history/culture was brought into play. The same thing happened again when soaps took the leap and dared to delve into interracial relationships. Like it or not folks, homosexuality isn't going anywhere. Why shouldn't soaps show that? Many of them don't do the story justice, like the Zarf/Zoe debacle from a couple of years ago, so now that OLTL has the ball on ABC soaps, I hope they don't drop it. AMC could have hit the soap world jackpot by featuring a transgender character on their show in a frontburner storyline (keep in mind, the portrayer was a straight man, I believe). They could have played it realistically and allowed us to see Zarf in moment of pain besides when Zoe was trying to land Bianca or when her family was mentioned. I wanted to see the reality of what a person goes through during that kind of journey. But AMC dropped the ball. Most soap characters that are gay are already comfortable with their identity before they come to town, excluding AMC's Bianca....but the story with Fish and Kyle is much different and I want OLTL to have the courage, despite the drop in fans, to go into that.

I am so glad that the writers allowed Viki and Charlie to be happy; I'm slightly annoyed the wedding went down in the first place on Nora and Clint's side, but I'm glad it didn't affect the festivities for Charlie and Viki and they are now blissfully married. I just hope that this does not allow them to fade into obscurity. As older adults, its obvious that they are not going to become frontburners for fake pregnancies, and with the lack of adults their age adultery and betrayal are not going to be part of the storyline either, but I hope the writers allow them to stay in the forefront of the show. This is a very mature love story and not only is it refreshing, it's hope-restoring for cynical broads such as myself. We won't be seeing any steamy Brody/Jessica like love scenes between the two, but a little love in the afternoon won't hurt. There's too many contrived pregnancies, undercover drug deals, perpetrating, mob wars and murder trials--it's nice to see at least one happy couple who knows how to block out the outside world and focus on their love for each other. I think it was a little irrelevant for Charlie to be listening outside the door at Asa's lodge while Viki and Clint were talking, but I understand why the writers did it now. Charlie is the new man in Viki's life and wants to become a mainstay. He can't do that if Clint is in the way, and when he felt that Clint was, he rightfully felt threatened about it. Clint and Viki make up the minority of ex-couples who manage to stay on such good terms that they can have a double wedding but marry other people with no jealousy or old feelings coming to reclaim themselves. But Charlie listening outside only shows his fears of Viki reconnecting with Clint due to the nature of their relationship, not his lack of trust in Viki. Some partners often feel that fear with new partners who are close to former mates and I like that Charlie didn't just roll into Llanfair, put his feet up and assume he owned the place just because he was with Viki. I also like that Viki's trip to Paris, TX has not been forgotten. Of all the vacations Viki has taken because of Erika Slezak's annual vacation, Paris, TX has been the best one yet. Even though Viki/Charlie didn't technically start interacting until Erika's vacation was over, it really did look like she'd spent time there and I have to remind myself that she didn't. Their interactions are that natural and that's what we look for. Relationships that are created out off-screen and brought to the table as an established camaderie between two actors who haven't technically shared any screen time can be kind of difficult, but the actors who portray the two make it look natural and loving in Viki and Charlie's relationship with each other that you can't even tell.

I don't like where the Starr and Cole story is going at the minute, although I'm relieved he's not in prison, but I don't care about the rest so moving on to randoms.

1)How is AMC's move to LA going to affect Susan Haskell(OLTL's Marty) and Thorsten Kaye (AMC's Zach) with them both being based in NY? Zach is often a frontburner character, so he can't afford to be on 2 days a week. What's gonna happen? 2)Why do I find GH's Robin's detective skills so elementary school? Tossing the keys to Andrea to test her reflexes was a little 2nd grade, especially when that same tactic was used on her later in the episode. 3)What's GH's Jerry going to do now that he has had to defend Michael and Kristina against the thugs? I believe he is sorry for his role in Michael's shooting, but he still has an axe to grind against Claudia. Is he going to use this same nephew who he helped get shot (under Claudia's command) to get something out of Claudia now that he has found Michael (again under Claud's orders)? 4)How cute does Laura Wright (GH's Carly) look with a belly bump? 5)How cute is Alicia Minshew going to look with one for real? 6)I love the SOAPnet promos, both for the Sara Evans concert and for the summertime with the various soap stars. The letters from co-stars is cute. 7)I think Farah Fath had a cold during this week's show; she sounded pretty congested....what? I said they were random ramblings. Hope she feels better soon! 8)I wonder if the guy who plays OLTL's Kyle is gay. 9)Did you know the guy who plays OLTL's Fish is that hottie Chris Evans' brother? I wouldn't have normally put the two together, but now that I know about it, I can see the resemblance. 10)As I've said before, I think GH's Michael and Kristina would make a cute couple. Too bad they're related. That would be kinda gross. Drew Garrett hinted at the possibility of romance down the road since technically Michael is not Sonny's so technically they're not related, but I still couldn't warm to the concept. 11)I want Jason back with Liz. I don't like Liz with the Brooding Prince, and even though Sam and Jason are more than capable of steaming up my tv screen, ehh. Wonder what's going to happen with them since Steve Burton re-signed with the show. 12)Still loving my Diane and Max. 13)Spinelli, Maxie clearly doesn't want to marry you. She's merely been placating you....for weeks now. How you can't see this is beyond my comprehension. Three words, dear. Let. It. Go. 14)I know this is a lot of randoms, but gimme a break--I haven't been here in awhile. 15)I want Forbes March back as OLTL's Nash. Yes, I love me some Brody and Jessica, but it doesn't beat Nash and Jess for me. I miss it and even though I know Forbes is on ATWT (in a gay role coincidentally with the timing of the gay storyline on his old stomping grounds)so he probably will not be coming back, but I have to say, I'm excited to see who belongs to the tan blazer and black loafers I keep seeing from afar.
16)Kudos to AMC's Natalia for trying to follow the straight and narrow and calling Jesse out on the fact she knows he's got his foot outside the law. I think's he about up to his waist now. I didn't like her at first, but she's growing on me. 17) I like this blossoming friendship between Maxie and Lulu. Although I love my feuds, it's nice to see females together that actually tolerate each other. These two have matured immensely in the last few months and it's nice to see them actually protecting each other instead of trying to manipulate each other. 18)Speaking of Maxie, her lover's selfish ramblings when there are more important issues is endlessly annoying. Spinelli...shut up for like 7 seconds! Please!
